“Good place to stay”
Rooms are in an annexe clean, comfortable and a good size. Excellent value for money, a good place to stay on a short visit to Wokingham. Menu loooked good at the pub but only stayed for one night and didn't get chance to try it.
“Great food, ok Accomodation.”
Room basic and a bit tired but clean and comfortable. Pub was good and food excellent both at dinner and breakfast.
“Disapppointed !!!”
After reading all the superb reviews online I can only say that I was very disappointed. After travelling 3 hours with a small boy I arrived at the hotel at 9.30. Small tight parking spaces. I asked if we could have a meal and was told this had shut at 9.30. We had to walk to the local fish and chip shop!!! Although the girl was friendly we had in fact chosen this hotel for the great food reviews but never got to find out. I asked for milk for my little boy and we were given this freely buyt it was well out of date - perhaps best that we never sampled the food!!! The room was clean and quiet and just like any other budget hotel. It was worn and tired in the shower and the temperature on the shower was stuck at high !!! They had only left one mug - I suppose they thought a little boy didn't need one !!! Although it was a hot night this was intensified as the towel rail was on full and couldn't be turned off. My son nearly burnt himself on it !!! In the morning we went to breakfast. This was very disorganised. There were no glasses, no orange and my son was given his cereal in a bowl. We had to search for cutlery. The breakfast iteslf was adequate - cold and very runny beans with only 1 sauasge. Breakfasts we had earlier had far exceeded that. Then finally to add insult to injury we were told that we owed on our bill - gess what for ? For food !!! I was past complaining. I am just glad that if breakfast was the standard of food then I am glad I didn't sample the evening meal.
