Convenient riverside hotel with some issuesPosted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Easy to locate, free parking, comfortableand with breakfast included.
Cons: Hot water, a bit of heat ,TV's already tuned. The exterior could do with a refresh and livened up - its a Riverside bar but you'd never know.
Location: Its a bit out of town, but Boulters about 10 minutes down the road is excellent - if you have deep pockets (otherwise stick to the bar menu!)
Easy to find and with parking available Thames looked a good prospect for an overnight stay and at a very reasonable cost (well it was a sunday night). Got one of the few rooms with a river view and the only one wth a balcony (OK so its above the bar, but the bar was quiet and non-intrusive). Plenty of room and it was clean and comfortable. No central heating on but an electric heater in the room took the evening chill off. We obviously weren't the only ones that felt a bit of heat would have been a good idea in April - the other couple were staying a bit longer and were going to raise the issue with them. Tried the large TV for the football results but nevr managed to get it to work - glad I hadn't wanted to see Poldark! Shower in the morning was lukewarm - no excuse for that as the hotel was hardly busy. Breakfast was fine but some of the hot food had been around a while and a bit off its best. Mixed feelings about the Hotel. Its seen better days (albeit very clean and comfortable) and although it was fine for the price - (£53 + for a double and breakfast for two) I'd probably go elsewhere if I was staying in Maidenhead fora few days. Will probably give it the benefit of doubt and try it again for an overnight if the deal is right - but I suspect that nothing will change and that the second chance is only because the room, with its view and balcony, was a very welcome surprise.

A B & B with a bar and restaurantPosted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: The staff were pleasant and the views were very good. Food and drink were good and reasonably priced.
Cons: The car park and outside seating area were drab. Flower tubs were not looked after.
Location: It was within easy reach of all I needed. I did not use local facilities. It appeared that there were nice walks by the Thames and a play park nearby
Arrived and greeted by a professional receptionist. There was no lift (Listed building). We were on the 2nd floor. The receptionist helped with cases. Room was adequate. Beds moved when sat upon, but comfortable. Bathroom was cold and shower had no power. Bath water flowed well. Found used sweet wrappers in drawers. Some lights did not work. The bar was pleasant and the food was very good. Breakfast was good. The staff were very pleasant and put themselves out. The hotel appeared dated and could do with upgrading. I would stay there again, but not for more than a couple of nights. Great views over the Thames. This hotel is not suitable for disabled persons.

Value for moneyPosted Oct 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
Location, parking and price very good. Room clean but some of the interior and exterior fixtures beginning to deteriorate. Breakfast in this price range always welcome, but quality of breakfast average - luke warm and dried, unless you were lucky and got first choice when contents were replenished.
