The shower was out of order, the sink was almost falling off the wall, and the walls were in a state of disrepair. Unfortunately, the staff were mainly at the pub, which is very nice, they were too busy to attend to guests at the reception at all times.

Very welcoming and friendly staff. The property itself needs a bit of TLC with paint peeling in places and furniture well worn. Food was adequate, bit nothing special.

3 star average but comfortable
Clean but very aged. Table top fan faulty, hair dryer old and only hot, bathroom very aged and crack in sink. Bathroom definitely needs modernising

Good location with easy parking. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms well cleaned and serviced. Only drawback is the bathroom which is very dated and for any older or less mobile totally unsuitable. The shower is over the bath and being an older bath is very high. With no bars on the wall in the bath area I found this very difficult to use and will put me off using what is a first class hotel. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice. Shame about the bath.

Good experience. Lovely hotel. Good could have been warmer in the evening. Great choice of drinks. Breakfast was a little poor with rotten fruit and hard pastries. Overall good stay.

The hotel is very dated (1980’s) but clean staff very good and polite has pub next door so can get a breakfast and lunch . Ideal for what needed 👍

Good value.
Generally a bit tired. Problem with shower tap but husband seemed to get it working, hairdryer not working but staff found me another. Staff were great and room comfortable. No complaints considering the price.

The Wee Waif had friendly reception staff, explaining everything about the venue. Accomodation (I stayed in room 19) was okay, but tired, basin had a crack in it and the mattress was lumpy. I ate in the pub attached to the accomodation and had the Chicken Tikka meal. Very nice food, but could had done with a bit more chicken. Food service was quick, and pub was really busy.

Food was disappointing. Continental breakfast looked very sad. Poor selection of very small muffins. Hot water for tea was only warm. Lunch baguette was inedible - the baguette was as tough as leather. Room was clean and presentable. However, the carpet was threadbare at the entrance to the bathroom. The surface around the sink was damaged. The reception desk was rarely manned.

Carpet so worn it has 2 holes in it, bathroom panelling chipped and bath was stained. Bins had ingrained dirt. The room looked like it had not been updated since the 1980s so was tired but not actually uncomfortable. We only stayed 1 night so the fact I couldnt bring myself to use the bath wasn't an issue

Very good value and overall much better than I had expected and better than a number of other budget places we have stayed. Very short of staff at breakfast - although they managed amazingly well.
