“Excellent all round”

Great value for money, excellent, freindly and helpful staff at all times. Good access to all sights.

“Close to the station”

Located at the train staion right across the street. The twin room is very clean and neet but it was a little bit hot. There was no air conditioner.

A bit noisy at night (what you would expect for a hostel, but otherwise very good. Area a little on the seedy side at night.

“Perfect location, good service at an excellent price”

2 minutes from the Zoo, 10 minutes from the Story Of Berlin (and its Nuclear Bunker tour!), 5 seconds from the U-Bahn, a minute from the S-Bahn/train station, 30 seconds from the Bus Station, this hotel is certainly in the perfect location for those planning to visit Berlin. Although technically a Hostel, many of the rooms are en-suite, and although the beds are other elements are basic, you're paying peanuts for a room in an excellent location (our room was 10 feet from the train tracks, but the room was pretty soundproofed). Although some elements of the Zoo area aren't as welcoming as they may be at first glance (the hotel shares the building with an 'Erotic Museum', the entrance into the Tiergarten from the Zoo itself seemed to be a haven for the homeless) you soon realise the whole region, and the city as a whole has a very unthreatening, laid back feel. The main tourist areas of Brandenburg Gate, Potsdamer Platz and Checkpoint Charlie are only a few minutes away on the S and U-Bahn, and the upmarket stores on Ku'damm are just around the corner. If you're on a budget and want a place to stay with excellent transport links and typical German cleanliness and efficiency, this hotel is for you!

“A&O Berlin am Zoo”

While the hotel is very conveniently located right next to Bahnhof Zoo right in the heart of the city my room directly faced the heavily used rail tracks. The rooms are NOISY so bring earplugs.

“Cheap but location excellent”

A basic hotel/hostel in an excellent location. Main airport link just beside front door. Tourist buses 100 and 200 are just across the street.

“A great location”

I arrived at 8.00 pm and staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean, however the railway line was parallel to my bedroom window and it was difficult to get a good night's sleep. Overall, the hostel is very good value for money, with the Bahnhof Zoo station only across the road.The breakfast has been excellent too. I would definitely stay there again in the future!

“Okay, but a youth hostel really”

Didn't realise it was a youth hostel full of beery American teenagers and I would have to sleep in a metal bunk bed. Still, it was clean, cheap, well located and the staff were pleasant and spoke English.

“If you're trying to save money that's a good place... but don't expect comfort”

The location was very good, 20 meters from the metro station, but the hotel is actualy a Hostel. We were not advised that we had to pay extra for towels and the toilet didn't have any rug or hands towel. The pillows were horrible too. The window was not accessible, so we couldn't open at any time. I only recomend if you're going with a group and don't want to pay for comfort.
