“Old World Charm”

Stumbled upon this hotel by accident in passing one day. Needed a hotel to stay while my husband was hospitalized unexpectedly during our vacation. Booked through Expedia for 3 nights; ended up staying for 6 nights. Room is large by European standards; beautiful bathroom; mini fridge; desk; HD TV; our room had balcony; free Wi-Fi; breakfast NOT included. Front desk very accommodating; computer in lobby for guest use with printer attached. 1.5 blocks from Zoo train/bus station; half a block from the Ku'damm; grocery store 1 block away. Only drawback is that you have to drag your luggage up 1.5 flights of stairs to get to lobby; once inside there is an elevator.

This hotel is gorgeous. When we stayed, it was under reconstruction but it was still beautiful. The inside is like a palace. Would definately stay there again. Cheap too. Thank you.

“very good tourist hotel”

Excellant location within blocks of major bus lines, underground and railroad station. Older but very well maintained hotel. The day manager Chris, could not be more helpful and had a great sense of humor. Like most Berlin hotels, no a/c but ask to borrow a fan. Located on high traffic street so ask for a courtside room..very quite.

“Well located hotel with one drawback”

Overall a very nice hotel in a very convenient position. Breakfasts were nice with plenty of choice and the breakfast room had nice views of the area. Room was of a good size and comfortable. In general staff were good and helpful. Now for the neagative aspects. First and most importantly this hotel is not air conditioned. I arrived during an early summer heatwave, and quite honestly my room was a furnace, with just a small table fan for cooling. Opening the windows helped a little but of course let in the considerable street noise ( even at 3am.). There are rooms on the inner courtyard which may be quieter and cooler. The minibar didnt work and was not repaired during my stay. So a mixed review...a fab spot in winter /spring/autumn i am sure but a Sauna in the summer!

“Average hotel, but very central”

This is a nice hotel, but not in the most salubrious of areas. However, it is very central, and most sights are within walking distance or a short ride on the underground. The standard rooms are fine but would be more comfortable in the summer if fitted with air conditioning or a fan. The double rooms don't have a double bed, but two singles put together,which isn't the best if you fall asleep in the join! On the whole it was good enough place to stay and the staff were very friendly.

“Hotel Belmondo”

After reading several negative reviews of this hotel, I was pleasantly pleased by it. The location is great. The hotel staff are friendly. The hotel has a bar and lifts despite some reviews to the contrary (these may have been added after renovations). The only negative comments I have is that the hotel was rather warm at times since it apparently lacks air conditioning. Fans should have been made available to guests. Also, it would be nice if the internet was available in hotel rooms. Finally, some of the staff seemed unclear on the cost of taxis to Tegel airport and on the best form of public transportation to get to the hotel from the airport on. I was told in advance of my visit to take a bus to Alexanderplatz and then the S-Bahn to the nearest station to the hotel. As I discovered after taking 90 minutes to get to the hotel this way, there is a city bus from the airport that stops right outside of the hotel and takes 15-20 minutes.

newly renovated, friendly staff. had an inside room which was very quiet. great location for getting around using public transportation.

the only problems are: no aircondition and noise'( unless you get a backyard room).

it was quite ok, not a first class hotel :) but quite clean and in a very good location
