Great hotelPosted Sep 13, 2014
Hotel is a little bit out of main city area, but there is a tram out the front that takes you direct to city. The staff were very helpful. Great breakfast. Found a fantastic Turkish resturant directly across the road from the hotel give it a try and tell them the Aussies sent you!!!,

Not close-in, but easy to access. Good value.Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Rooms were good and bathrooms even better. Free fast wi-fi in rooms.
Cons: Attitude of front desk staff. Not real friendly or helpful. Concierges were good but not there enough hours of the day.
Location: Very close to public transportation into the. Enter of the city.
Not as pricey as being right in the middle of Berlin, but easy to navigate to/from on public transportation. Comfortable bed, very clean room with good shower. Huge breakfast selection included with room. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again - even though the front desk staff were not truly pleasant or service-oriented.

Nice new hotel convenient to public transport.Posted Aug 19, 2014
Had a great stay in the Andels hotel. Was very clean and well equipped. Buffet breakfast was pretty good. The only real down side of this hotel was its location, it was a fair way out of the center and there was nothing around it so you couldnt go anywhere for a quick drink or a bite to eat other then the hotel or the burger king arcoss the road. Fortunately it was at both a tram and train (S-bahn) station so it was very easy to get into the center or anywhere really in berlin (only about 40 mins to the furthest places, 10-15 mins to Alexander platz).

Smokers in Wellness areaPosted Aug 16, 2014
Cons: WIFI not reliable
Location: It is in an awful area - not in Prenzlauer Berg as advertised.
We were looking forward to the Wellness area but left quickly because smoking is allowed in the outdoor area of the Wellness area. I complained but they did not want to understand that smoking and Wellness just does not go together. The whole Wellness area was full of smoke.

A visit to the former East BerlinPosted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: Its situation and its cleanliness. There is a beautiful lobby, large in area and welcoming. The breakfast had an excellent choice of all kinds of food
Cons: More drawer space in the rooms. Everything else in the hotel was perfect.
Location: Ideal for fast and reliable transport to the city centre. We did not look around the immediate vicinity as we wanted to be in the city centre.
This hotel's situation right next to S-Bahn and Tram stops is ideal. Very easy to reach central Berlin from this hotel, once you take the trouble to learn the basics of city travel by the excellent public transport service. The best way from Tegel to this hotel, we found was to take Bus TXL from the airport to the Alexanderplatz, (terminus) and then transfer to Tram M6, (Destination, Riesaerstrasse) getting off seven stops up, at Landsberger Allee. The hotel is right in front of you. DO NOT get off at Landsberger Allee/Petersburgerstrasse, as this is some way short of Andel's Hotel. Buy a Tageskarte from the bus driver (6.70), which will allow you to use all forms of transport in the city. Also, you can use it for the rest of the day, after reaching your hotel. The next day, purchase a Berlin Welcomecard for 25 euros, which allows three days' travel throughout most of the Berlin area.
