home base in the city

Art-appart - kempinski plaza is conveniently located in the Western part of central Berlin, close to the Kurfürstendamm and U-Bahn station Uhlandstrasse, S-Bahn Savignyplatz, and station Zoologischer Garten (zoo). I had a nice studio apartment, and its relatively affordable price was balanced by the fact that as apartment hotel, there is only reduced service every second day or so. Soap/shampoo are initially provided but will not be reloaded based on the extended-stay concept of the guest shopping for those consumables once they settle in. Given the location, this is quite easily achieved. My apartment was on the sixth floor with balcony, from which I enjoyed looking over the roofs of Berlin (über die Dächer Berlins).

Nice, clean and handy place to stay

Posted Jun 3, 2013
Pros: Cleanness and spaciousness
Cons: Not really. Reception hours are limited which may not be as convenient as a hotel for some people but it was not a problem for us.
Location: Covenient to/from Tegel Airport and taking U-bahn. Close to many shops and restaurants. 15 minutes walk from Zoologischerfarten Stn with bags.
The apartment was very clean and spacious. Complementary two bottles of water and two small milk capsules were in the fridge in addition to a small bag of ground coffee and a couple of tea bags on the kitchen bench. A kettle and an electric filter coffee maker were on the kicthen bench. Very close to Uhlandstrasse U-bahn station and a bus stop on Ku'damm for No.109 to/from Tegel Airport. We found it is much nicer to stay in this place than squeezed in a tiny hotel room. It is not necessary to book breakfast in the adjascent hotel as nice cafes are easily found on Ku'damm.

Spacious accomidations in Berlin

Posted Aug 22, 2008
The hotel was in a very good area in Berlin. Convenient to transportation, shopping and restaurants. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I was surprised that we did not have a daily maid visit but it wasn't important. it was great to have a safe, laundry facilities and a bidet!. Employees were friendly and helpful but at night we had problems because we didn't speak German.
