Factory Restaurant and Bar - Located in the lobby and serving a buffet breakfast and a fresh cuisine of light meals and snacks for lunch and dinner. Features pictures of and by Andy Warhol and Campbell's Soup cans with ‘Factory' on the label on each table. Modern furnishings in grey and black, lit by coloured spotlights. Wall-to-wall windows overlook the busy Lietzenburger Strasse with life-size cut-outs of Warhol and photographer Christopher Makos stuck to the glass. The bar serves drinks and snacks throughout the day.

Breakfast hours are: 6.30 AM to 10 AM on weekdays and from 7:30 AM to 11 AM on weekends.

For a surcharge, bike rental is available at the front desk. Additionally the four star hotel offers a free guided art'tour for guests to learn more about Pop Art artist Andy Warhol and photographer Christopher Makos.

Recreation

Berlin's central park, the Tiergarten, is located 1.5 kilometres from the hotel. From the Tiergarten, joggers and walkers can follow the Spree Canal which leads towards the Chancellery and the Reichstag. The Volkspark Wilmersdorf is two kilometres south of the hotel and offers running, walking, tennis opportunities.

“Great place to stay.”

We were disappointed that they no longer assist guests with parking their cars in the garage. The elevator to take the car downstairs and the garage itself are small and it's difficult to turn a vehicle around when there are other cars parked. Someone helped us park last time we stayed here. We do recommend dinner at the Kneipe that is on the other end of the same block - away from K-damm. Excellent food and service and very reasonable prices. We often had breakfast and dinner at the Kneipe.

Area recommendations

Berlin is a lovely city. Everyone should find their own way quite easily.

we appreciate you taking the time to give us some valuable feedback via Expedia. Unfortunately we are not allowed anymore to park the cars of our guests due to some insurance issues. However, we also provide some outdoor parking spaces which are more accessible than our car parking facility. Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention though. “Ultra modern hotel in a great location.”

Ultra-modern hotel located not too far from the Zoological Garden and several train stops. You can find lots of cafes and bakeries near the Zoo. The hotel is also located an avenue away from Kurfurstendamm (one of the main Avenues of Berlin). It's a very safe and peaceful neighborhood. All the receptionists speak English which is a big plus. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They offer free WiFi or you can use the computer downstairs. They also have a parking garage (for an extra fee). The breakfast is a bit expensive though. I would recommend going to Uhlandstrasse (1 block away) and either going to Kaiser's (supermarket) or Bio Company (organic food chain). The Bio Company offers freshly baked bread, sandwiches, soups, salads, coffee, tea, etc. which are very reasonable priced. Overall, I was very pleased with the location and the service the hotel offers.

Area recommendations

Must see

A must-see is the FIlm Museum located just minutes away from Postdamer Platz. The Museum traces German film history from the very beginning to the present. It's such an interesting museum that you can literally spend hours in there. Another must-see is the Holocaust Museum located just minutes from the Branderburg Gate. It's a very tough and emotional experience to go though the museum but it gives you a better understanding of the Holocaust.

“Not Bad”

Fairly new hotel. Rooms are small and a little spartan. They hang a few Andy Warhol pictures around to try to make the place feel more upscale. Good cleaning crew. Bathroom was spotless. Food and Drink are pricey even by Berlin standards..surprising since the cafe and bar are very casual. You may want to dine or drink elsewhere. WIFI only available in the lobby. But the room rates are fairly low..its not run down..the location is OK ..so in all not a bad value.

Traveler's tip

Nearest S-Bahn station is Savigny Platz. Only a five minute walk to the station. You can get to most places in the city from there. There are some nice side-walk cafes near the station. Many shopping options and the Zoo are within walking distance.
