Location and price are good, but service lackingPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: Artwork and modern style of the rooms.
Cons: Hospitality of the front desk staff. Better stocking of towels in the bathrooms - threadbare quality and only given one bath sheet and one hand towel.
Location: Close to the KuDamm and nearby shopping.
Booked room due to amazing price and cleanliness of photos. Rooms are very small, but well maintained. Location is convenient for sight seeing - a block off The KuDamm, close enough but not right in the middle of things. The front desk staff was not very friendly and did not extend themselves to be helpful. Local friends had called three different times and two of the times the phone was never answered. Requests were answered with a curt no or yes without any further explanation. Language did not appear to be the issue, but rather attitude. The hotel facilitates are nice enough, not luxe. The breakfast seemed overpriced whether it was the full buffet or the express breakfast at half price. You can easily find a better breakfast for cheaper elsewhere.

Art'Otel Review - August and September 2013 StaysPosted Sep 6, 2013
Pros: Location, friendly staff, clean and inexpensive. Free internet that is functional for emails and basic browsing.
Cons: We like art but found the picture of Marilyn Munroe's face a bit much. The pot lighting in the room that is a bit difficult to work with.
Location: Major shopping street one block over. 24 hr. Convenience and multipurpose store. Lots of restaurants and close to Zoo.
We had booked a Baltic cruise leaving from Warnemunde on August 22nd and returning on September 2nd. We booked the hotel for one day before and 2 days after the cruise. Our overall experience was great. We arrived early in the morning on August 21 (about 10:00 am) from the airport and were fortunate enough topbe able to get into our room and catch some sleep to get over our jetlag. The staff was friendly and helpful; The front desk attendant honoured our special request for a King bed and was very helpful in suggesting things we could do that day. We were given information about a restaurant/bistro area about 4 blocks from the hotel and had an excellent and enjoyable dinner outdoors. On our way there we discovered a 24 hour grocery/convenience/liquor/restaurant within a half block of the hotel. That turned out to be our breakfast and cappuccino place for all 3 days that we were in Berlin. We arrived about 5:00 pm after our cruise was over and check in was super smooth. We got a bigger room with a King Bed and staff was very helpful in explaining the public transportation system on how to get around in Berlin (we are newbies to public transportation and appreciated the patience of the staff). There were no issues with billing when we left and the front desk helped to print out our boarding passes the day before. For our needs, this is an excellent location and the price we paid for both parts of our stay was excellent. Expedia was excellent also.

Decent place shame about staffPosted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness Standard of furniture
Building and location are good Breakfast nice But staff lied to our face twice and showed minimal willingness to be helpful. Guest focused they are not. 2 examples - would not give a spare room key and did not want to call their partner hotel to enquire about a booking error they made. Poor attitude.

A touch of classPosted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: Public areas and rooms.
Cons: The breakfast buffet has an excellent selection, but sometimes the hot items can be a little cold
Location: Wine, dine, relax.
Everything about this hotel impressed me, from the appealing foyer area, the helpful and friendly front desk staff, and finally the spacious well equipped rooms. The shower and wet room must rate as one of the best that I have used. The hotel is situated on a main road, but there is no noise from the road if you close the windows and take advantage of the air conditioning. Within a 10 minute walk there are numerous bars and restaurants, the u Bahn at uhrlandstrasse, the s Bahn at savignyplatz, and local bus services to the zoo, and grunerwald. Take time to explore the local area.

Hotel staff spoke excellent English, were very helpful and the (French) bartender served the best Martini's in mainland Europe. Excellent.

Clean and friendly hotelPosted Aug 18, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness and decor
We had a wonderful stay at Art'otel. The rooms were very clean and the staff were helpful. Although the hotel wasn't in the centre, it wasn't far from the s-bahn, making everything accessible.

Value for moneyPosted Aug 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
Around 5-10 mins walk from the S-bahn station, numerous eateries and cafes nearby, 3 supermarkets, walking distant to the shopping street... location wise, really ideal. XL room is pretty spacious, we can open 2 luggage on the floor and yet still with walking space. Aircon not powerful enough, especially for summer period. I think the room had starting to look a bit tired, and room lock is a bit tricky for first time users like us.
