“Very clean, tucked away location”

I stayed at this hotel for 4 days. It looks like what it is, a good, well run, 3 star hotel with no frills. It's clean and I found the reception staff helpful. They checked me into my flight on-line on my last night. It is tucked away on a quiet side street off quite a busy road. The location is ideal, halfway between Unten den Linden and the main shopping area. If you can be bothered to research the buses it's really quick, otherwise, it is a 5min walk to the Berlin Underground.

“Hidden Gem”

Extreemly good value for money. We took the 12 Euro Breakfast option which was also good value with everything you could possibly want on offer at the Buffet. Very quite location only 2 minute walk from Potsdammer Strasse. We walked to Potsdammer Platz in 12 minutes and the Brandenburg Gate in less than 20 minutes. Two differant U Bahn stations and lines are less than 10 minutes away. Buy the 12 euro 72 hour pass and use all the U Bahn, S Bahn, Buses and trams to your hearts content. The hotel has a scandinavian feel to it as the namew would suggest. The rooms were clean and well equpped with a very comfortable bed. No noise from within the hotel meant we all ha a good nights sleep every night we were there. the staff were freindly and helpfull throughout. Would definitely stay again when in Berlin.

“Good Location”

Hotel is a short walk to Potsdamer Platz and most of the centre of Berlin. There is also a massive Transport Museum just round the corner if that is your thing. Also close to the Kreuzberg area which is trendy but off the regular beaten track.

“Ideal hotel for a weekend's sightseeing”

I really cannot fault this hotel,even allowing for the complete shambles that is Easyjet ! My daughter & I checked in at Luton, only to find out that our flight was delayed for 4 1/2 hours. I phoned the hotel to advise them of this, as reception closed at 2300 & thought that we coud arrive later. This was no problem for them as they gave me code numbers for a key box outside the front door. We were indeed late as there was a 1 hour delay in off loading our luggage at Schonefeld airport, but upon arrival at the hotel, the keys were there for our our rooms. I cannot comment on the breakfast, as we ate in town, but the reception/bar staff were extremely efficient & friendly. The hotel is a bit out of the way, but it is only a 15 minute walk to Potsdammer Platz. All in all, very happy & would stay again.....But would not fly with Easyjet !!!!

“VERY good hotel in central Berlin!”

The room was very clean, especially the shower, it was spotless. The bed was very good too, with clean sheets and all. There's a good and working heating. The staff was very friendly and the cleaning stuff was unnoticeable and did everything so fast! The location is in the center with 5 min walking from the train and 10 min walking from the Sony Center! This is a very good hotel with great prices, location and conditions! VERY recommended. Only thing that was missing - a kettle!

“Nice smaller hotel”

The Fjord was not super-fancy, but was quite nice. Rooms were clean and bright, and it was a 10 to 15 minute walk to the center of Potsdammer Platz, and a slightly shorter walk to a U-bahn station. The breakfast buffet (11 Euros extra per day) was fantastic, with fruit, yogurt, cold meats, cheeses, and terrific breads. The only two downsides were: w 1) when we were there (July 2008), it was quite hot, with no air-conditioning. They did provide a fan, which was helpful but not sufficient to make it really comfortable. 2) There was a construction project on a building next door. This meant a fair amount of noise starting at 6:30am. It wasn't that bad, but if you wanted to sleep in late, it would have been annoying. This mostly affected one side of the building, so you could certainly ask for a room on the quieter side.

Excellent value for money. Modern hotel, spotless, pleasant bar (open until 11pm). Staff excellent. Breakfast may appear pricey at 11 Euros (June 2009), but great variety of cold meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurts, juices. Eggs to order.

“A nice quiet hotel”

This was a very nice, quiet hotel, located about a third of a mile from the metro station. I arrived in Berlin early in the morning, but the staff allowed me to drop off my bags at the hotel; I checked in later that afternoon. The staff was very helpful in making reservations at restaurants and calling taxis for us. The only complaint I have is that I requested a wake-up call on our last morning and never received it, which could have been a problem if we hadn't set a back up alarm.

“Central, friendly, great value”

Central location on quiet street. Staff were very friendly and the room was spacious, warm and clean. Great buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice. Excellent value and higly recommended. 5 mins walk to train / U-bahn with connections to everywhere. Easy walk to shopping and restaurants. Zoo is only 15mins walk.Will DEFINITELY stay here again.
