“Impressive Service”

My stay at the hotel was really enjoyable. The hotel and the room were really nice. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was good. My only gripe is that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and the tea in the hotel isn't always the best. The hotel is just a 15min walk away from Zoologische Garten, the station that I came into from Schonefeld Airport. AT E3.00 that was a lot cheaper than a taxi. This area is also where you can pick up the touring buses and also where the shops are. You can easily pick up a bus/taxi if the walk is too much for you.

Excellent hotel in every way, efficient and warm welcome and help with all our questions, comfortable warm and clean and with a view over the canal as promised, highly recommended location close to the Tiergarten with lovely walks, and close to the buses for ease of transport.

“Berlin in a week”

Berlin itself, The people were again all very friendly and spoke excellent english, although I recommend always making the attempt to speak some german. City was clean and never once did I feel dodgy. Lots of history and culture in the city so was impossible to see everything in the week I was there. I recommend a visist to the Deutsch Teknik museum and the Topographie des terrors and Checkpoint Charlie. Would definatly visit again.

“Excellent hotel in all respects”

The Esplanade Hotel was excellent in all respects. It is close to everything but is in a quiet location on a canal so you have the best of both worlds. There are always taxis outside but a day or weekly pass or Berlin Welcome card give you access to the excellent transport (U Bahn S Bahn, trams and buses all included) and the Hotel also has bikes for rent (Berlin has excellent and safe bike lanes throughout the city). The upmarket shops towards the Zoologischer Gardens are closeby and the alternative Kreuzberg experience in similarly in the other direction, as is Potsdammer Platz. The rooms are very pleasant, the staff very polite and helpful. There is an excellent terraced area outside the hotel for summer relaxation over lunch or a coffee and the interior is pleasant with Harry's Bar available for evening entertainment. All in all a very pleasant stay in a hotel that I can highly recommend.

“SUPER ROOMS”

There were three of us travelling on business and we ALL thought our rooms were excellent. Considering what we paid, we were super impressed and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. Although the hotel is right in the center of Berlin, there are no shops on the hotels doorstep - you have to go a block or two to find anything, but when the hotels excellent rooms are such good value, who gives a monkeys! We will definitely be staying at this hotel again on our annual Berlin trip.

“Lovely hotel!”

We stayed at the Grand for 4 nights, its a lovely hotel and a total bargain! Gorgeous room and brilliant shower, and about a 20min walk to the sony center.

Modern, convenient and comfortable hotel that has a very accomodating staff. Would definitely consider staying there again.
