Great Location, Very Noisy

Posted Oct 14, 2009
It's in a cute neighborhood, and right across the street from the train station. BUT, it's an acoustical chamber of horror. It really is for young backpackers, who all seem to check in after 11:30PM and talk and walk and shower with gusto. The sound really bounces off the walls. Not for light sleepers.

Nice Place

Posted Aug 26, 2009
I enjoyed my stay here. It is not a 5-star hotel, but the room was spacious and was clean. We had a shared bathroom and shower, but found them clean, and I never had to wait to use these facilities. The staff was friendly and helpful and the other guests were friendly as well. It is also located right across the street from a transit station, so it was very easy to get around to all of the places we wanted to visit. I would stay here again and would recommend it to my friends.

Disappointing.

Warning! This was an extremely disappointing place to stay with no redeeming features. B A S I C accommodation, unfriendly unhelpful staff, how it dares place 'hotel' in front of its name is a joke.

Mysiga kvarter och nära till S och U-bahn. Hotellet helt ok för pengarna.

Can't fault it

Posted Jul 16, 2008
Excellent, English speaking staff, couldn't be more helpful. Room clean and bright. has a TV, but you'd have to be pretty dull to go to berlin to watch TV. Continental breakfast availble, alternatively the Cafe Voltaire (50 Yards away) offers a breakfast. Brilliant location on quite street, yet still handy for U-Bahn (200 yards) and S-Bahn (100 yards) services Direct bus to Tegel Airport (109) at end of road. Free Internet available at Hotel reception. Plenty of restaurants in the immediate vicinity. (The Italian next door is apparently good). I really could fault the Hotel. Good value for the money.

basis backpacking

This is a low-cost place that cuts costs by cutting frills .... there's no glamour, and everything is plain and basic, but when we were there it was snowing and the radiators in our room kept us like toast, and a staff member made us two hot chocolates cheerfully when we returned, for the princely sum of one euro the two!!! Don't expect luxury, but for the cost-conscious recommended.
