“Nice hotel, nice location”

The hotel was in very easy reach of the Potsdamer Platz and Anhalter Bahnhof UBahn stations, which made traveling around the city very easy. The breakfast was fine, and the people at the hotel were very nice. Overall, it was a great base for sightseeing around Berlin.

Beautiful facility, warn caring staff, outstanding service all at a reasonable price. The continental breakfast is the perfect war to begin the day. Transport is no problem with the M41 bus running in front of the hotel at 10 minute intervals. Take the M41 to the new Hauptbahnhof and you can use the U Bahn, S Bahn or the buses to be any where in Berlin in minutes. The Holiday Inn Express is outstanding in every way and I will most certainly stay again my next trip to Berlin.

The hotel is very clean, with a great location (walking distance from most all Berlim's tourist points! The people in the front desk are very nice and indicated good restaurants for dinner. I would go back for sure.

“Budget Hotel - Very Good Value”

Location was decent, within walking distance to several restaurants. Not too far to walk to all of the places we wanted to see. Also located near a couple of bargain grocery stores which saved on the food budget. The staff was very friendly, and very accommodating for visitors who didn't speak German very well. They assisted us in places to see, things to eat and getting a taxi ride to the airport as well. The hotel was clean. Some may think the neighborhood was a little run down, but it only appeared as such. At no point during our stay did we feel unsafe or uncomfortable. The free wifi only applied in the lobby. Otherwise there was an hourly or daily rate for wired connections in the room. Perhaps this is customary, but it certainly caught me off guard - though re-reading the listing, it didn't say free wifi would be available everywhere. Despite booking a room with two double beds, we were given a room with a queen and a couch that folded into a moderately comfortable bed.

“Good value in Berlin”

The Holiday Inn Express on Stresmannstrasse in Berlin is a good value for the money. As with most HI Express locations, it's not luxurious, but it is comfortable. My wife and 15 year old son stayed in the room and it was fairly roomy, by European Standards. It's less than a five minute walk to either an S-Bahn or U-Bahn Station....a ten minute ride to most attractions. The only criticism was on service, though I think it may be a cultural thing, rather than unresponsive staff. We were having trouble making a call from the room and voiced that complaint in person at the front desk. The staff offered to send a technician to the room to evaluate the problem. When I asked if I may make the call from the desk, the request was granted. It seems that the guest must ask overtly and directly for what you want rather than expect that the staff will offer. There isn't an "unfriendly" or "unhelpful" vibe, but I believe many Americans are used to staff offering actively to solve the problem...at least that's been my experience in most hotels in the U.S.....not bad, just different...so knowing the "rules of the game" may help you get what you want more quickly
