The hotel is very close to all the sights. A short walk and you can catch a tour bus. There are lots to choose from. We were impressed with breakfast but beware of coach parties as they clutter up the reception. Berlin is a city of history and best taken at leisure. Restaurants close by were quite reasonable but walk up the road to the centre for more choice. Our advice would be to get snacks off the main road looking at Brandenburg Gate - all pricey. Overall ideal location and no need to rush as it is such a great city.

At the doorstep(1 minute) of bus M41, straight to Potsdamer Platz, 5 mins stroll to underground Anhalter Bahnhopf, Netto opposite - could not be more conveniently located at the price. Very helpful staff, all speak English and try to help as much as possible (filling forms in German, printing out Reichstag invite, keeping medicines in fridge). Good breakfast (not English - so missed bacon/sausage/scrambled eggs!). Free PC and wi fi in lobby. Good restaurants just 5 minutes walk or 5 minutes bus ride away. Recommend this hotel to everybody who wants to see the city and not spend loads on lodging. Got what one would expect from a Holiday Inn Express, with a smile!

“Would return again”

The hotel was in walking distance of most attractions. There are several underground stations near by. The buildings behind the hotel are empty and it makes the area look a little run down but its fine and quite safe. Across the road there is small shop and a few places to eat.

“Absolutely Fine.............Sooooooooooo convenient!”

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, using it as a base for a short pre- Christmas break. The check- in process was very quick, simple and efficient. Our room was spotlessly clean,quiet,and of generous proportions - as I would expect having stayed in Holiday Inns in various parts of Europe before. Bathroom Super Clean. We were reliant on public transport and the hotel's proximity to the S-Bahn (Anhalter Bahnhof) was excellent. (5mins walk in deep snow!). Breakfast good - usual cold meats, boiled egg, bread, jam and cereals,- but a hot sausage / bacon option would have been the icing on the cake for this Breakfast-Loving Brit! Directly opposite the hotel is a cracking pub / restaurant with superb and inexpensive (for Berlin) lunches and dinner.... Also an Italian 2 mins over road - also v.good. If you are one of those "naughty smokers" (I'm not) there is a smoker's pub, again just over the road, where you can smoke INSIDE without feeling like a criminal!! For anyone self-catering and/or on a budget (aren't we all?!) a well stocked Netto and Aldi is just over road. If you have a late flight out of Berlin, as we did, the hotel provides a secure luggage room for no extra charge (at least they didn't charge us, but - I do try to be charming!). Easy walking distance from the hotel are Potsdammer Platz and U-Bahn (15mins) and Checkpoint Charlie (10mins). Would strongly recommend Holiday Express Inn to anyone wanting a practicable, clean, convenient place in Berlin.

“Berlin central”

Very clean and well run. The helpful hotel staff told us the best restaurants in the area. There.s a couple of supermarkets across the road for those bits you have forgotten or need when you get there. Very convenient for the Potzdammen Platz and other sites.

“Clean, good value hotel in a good location”

very comfortable stay at the holiday inn. staff very approachable and informative.room was very good and very clean. ideal for a short stay inn berlin. excellent location within a few mins walk of potsdamer platz. s bahn station anhalter banhoff just few mins walk up road.a few other stations further down road in kreuzberg.all offering excellent links to anywhere in berlin. also bus stop close to hotel buffet breakfast sufficient. there were a few bars and supermarkets close by. lots more down road in kreuzberg and up road toward potsdamer platz

“Holiday Inn Express Berlin”

Modern Hotel in an excellent location just 5 mins walk from the S Bahn station. Potsdamer Platz is 10 mins walk away as is Checkpoint Charlie. Hotel is clean and well maintained and with an excellent free breakfast. Free WIFI in the reception Area is a real bonus. Staff were ok if not particularly welcoming.

Location good, near to stations and buses. Hotel clean friendly and comfortable. Breakfast is continental but lots of it. Tea/coffee in room.Supermarket across road (nice & cheap) Ideal base for sight seeing around Berlin.
