Fantastic hotelPosted Mar 3, 2014
Just visited the hotel for a long weekend and from the moment we arrived we were looked after exceptionally well. The staff were superb and couldn't help you enough. Nothing was a problem for them and I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Berlin

Incredible!Posted Dec 31, 2013
Pros: Service, ambience, room comfort, lovely shower
Cons: Food and beverages were too expensive and the average person will feel fleeced.Luxury hotels I have stayed at around the world are not this expensive.
From the moment I pulled up to the red carpet I knew I was going to enjoy my stay. I was received well by the front desk and after check in was promptly served a complementary welcome drink ( sparkling white) . The lobby of the hotel was full and has a lovely warm ambience. I was ushered to my room by a staff member called Christine who explained the hotels amenities and services. I was impressed by the room even though it was just a standard room. It was quite spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is devine with a lovely bath and luxurious rainfall shower. The bed was comfortable and there is a pillow menu for those who are particular. My only criticism of the hotel was that food and beverages were expensive but I found plenty outside around the hotel. I will definitely be back to hotel Adlon when in Berlin next. Choose this hotel if customer service and a high level of comfort is paramount.

Luxurious city centre hotelPosted Dec 30, 2013
Pros: The location was excellent. A few yards from the Brandenburg gate and the Tiergarten. The Reichstag and Friedrichstasse only a couple of minutes away
Cons: Not much. Cost of eating at the hotel was on the expensive side as you'd expect but there were many restaurants close by...often open for breakfast.
Location: As well as the afore mentioned we were lucky to find the Christmas market one night ; between the German and French cathedrals and the concert house.
What you'd expect from a 5 star luxury hotel. Service at reception or at the bar or in the lounge was excellent. Room was spacious, elegant and modern; the in room Ipad was very useful . The TV service had a good selection of channels from several countries and it was easy to navigate and choose. Pool and sauna area were excellent with an endless supply of clean towels. Felt totally relaxed from the moment we were greeted with a glass of prosecco on checking in to the moment we got in the taxi to leave. The location was fantastic. Almost next to the Brandenburg gate, plus other places to see and visit and good restaurants all within easy walking distance. We were there for 3 nights so didn't get to see all of Berlin but we got to visit the places we wanted to. Would definitely make use of the undergound rail next time to get to some of the further out places of interest such as the olympic stadium.

Great locationPosted Dec 20, 2013
Pros: The location and the feel of the hotel.
Cons: I don't think it could be improved
Location: Great location. Very historic and interesting places all around. Not too far to walk to the very good shopping areas, art galleries etc.
What a lovely hotel in a great location next to the Brandenburg Gate. Very nice and friendly staff. We were greeted with glasses of champagne when we were checking in. Lovely room with lots of useful facilities. We had a couple of wake up calls and had complementary tea brought to our room. Beautiful lobby and bar area. All in all an excellent hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Pros: nice rooms, ambience of the hotel
Cons: i think for what you pay for the room it seems a bit odd that you are then asked to pay extra for breakfast somewhat destroying the myth of luxury

Setting a standard of Service ExcellencePosted Dec 12, 2013
Pros: Exceptional truly professional service. High quality of room with modern automation, quiet & efficient A/C. Location by Brandenburg Gate.
Cons: Nothing I noticed.
Location: The location by the Brandenburg Gate and walking distance the Reichstag, Museum Island, shopping and the Potsdamer Christmas Market was a plus!
The Adlon Kempinski has set a standard of excellence that others should at least try to follow. The service started over a week before I even arrived - I had asked by email if the hotel had any access to the Berlin Symphony performance for the evening of my arrival. Not 12 hours had passed before my email was answered with a concert seat confirmed to a sell-out performance. The Concierge team lead by Emmanuel somehow arranged this! When I actually arrived by cab, the door man surprising greeted me by name (I had then realize he had glanced at the luggage tags to get the name!). Upon check-in, Katerina at the front desk graciously couldn't have assisted me more - left her post instantly so that I could get my camera from my luggage that had already been held in a secure area. All the staff exemplified excellent manners while being very efficient - that's a balance I seldom if ever see. The room was very comfortable and very well appointed. The mattress in my opinion could have had a little more cushioning - but not unlike other European mattresses. The lobby was beautiful. I have read other comments about the 42 euro breakfasts - ok - so it was too expensive, but then it was a superb buffet. Everything the staff did was done with pleasure, not begrudging duty. I am not one to be generous with stars, but this is what all 5 star hotels should be like
