Great staff. Hotel needs updatePosted Sep 3, 2014
Good location near a train station that will take you anywhere in Berlin. Room needs to be renovated but the beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are clean and convenient. Big ups to Nico, Felix and the Latino gentleman in the reception desk.

clean but old..Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: clean room
This hotel is very close with TXL airport. The room was very clean and staff was good. But they do not have lift and wifi is not free and it is impossible to use any internet in any place in the hotel.

Close to airportPosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Location close to airport.
Cons: entire hotel
Location: nothing around this area apart from airport
The rooms are hot and need a decent clean. The entire hotel is very tired and dirty. Our toilet was dirty and all the surfaces in the room hadn't been cleaned or dusted. It's also very hard to sleep as you can constantly hear the planes/traffic/people on street. This was because we had to keep our window open as the room was so hot! Needs airconditioning.

Close to airport, but that's it.Posted Jul 29, 2014
Cons: Rooms were quite hot and stuffy, and windows had to be shut because of traffic and airplane noise.
Hotel Barlin is about 10 minutes from Tegel airport, but, other than that, it has little to recommend (and it is right under the flight path, which doesn't come as a surprise). Rooms are functional, but not much more. Staff did order a taxi when requested. Hotel works as long as expectations are low and it's only for a one-night stay before an early departure.

Easy access to TegelPosted Jul 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall, not a spectacular hotel, but the staff was friendly and helpful. You have to pay for wifi and it's only available in the lobby, which was a bit disappointing. If you need a cheap place to stay near the airport and can live without frills, then this place should do the trick.

one night layover in BerlinPosted Jul 23, 2014
Cons: Need AC. Free wifi and better TV.
We recently stayed at Hotel Barlin for one night layover. The hotel staff checking us in was helpful however the morning staff was not. We were interested in grabbing a light bite to eat and taking the bus to the airport and they assumed we knew whereabouts of the bus stop and the bakery. We had checked in late so we had no sense of any of the streets. I had to repeatedly ask and confirm whereabouts as I had 2 children traveling with me. Although the temperature was cooling off outside, the hotel was stuff and hot. There was no AC but the windows should have been opened up to cool off the room. The room felt like a sauna and with us trying to cool off the room with windows open, the air and car traffic was very loud. It made for a very uncomfortable stay. I had to take a cold shower to cool off.

Hotel wasn't air conditioned. Very noisy with the jets arriving. Shower didn't work.
