“Nice room for four”
The staff was friendly, the breakfast was good and the room was more than large enough for me and my three teenage kids. We loved being close to the action on the Ku'damm and we enjoyed being within walking distance of many good shops and restaurants.
“Would certainly go back”
Hotel is excellent value for money and in a great location; staff are really friendly and there is complimentary coffee all day! I would certainly stay here again.
“Best Location, Great Service, Good Rooms.”
I was more than pleased when our taxi pulled up to the hotel because it was right in the heart of the city, next to all the big shopping centers and parks. It was only a short walk or bike ride away from the Tiergarden, which is the biggest park in the city. The people at the front desk spoke English perfectly, which was great because that's not always the case with foreign hotels. They were very nice to us and always went out of their way to help us with any problems that we had. And the rooms were great. Well kept and clean. The beds were extremely comfortable. And the showers are clean and very hot. There is also a computer on the 3rd floor with internet access for anyone staying at the hotel. Overall, this hotel was great and i would strongly recommend anyone to stay here.
“Explore Berlin”
This hotel is clean, comfortable, and convenient. It is on the west side of the park, by the Zoo and the bombed church memorial. We enjoyed exploring West Berlin and walking through the park to get to the Brandenburg Gate and all the sights along the former wall and on the East Berlin side.
“Very good, basic hotel”
Great basic, but comfortable hotel which fulfills all your needs. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Very central and easy to find, good transport links and friendly helpful staff.
“Excellent location and value”
Hotel Berolina in right on the Kudam across the street from the famous church, though we didn't get to see the chuch becuase it was covered for restoration. I longed to see it as the image was everywhere on postcards -but oh well, we still had an excellent time in Berlin. Our room was affordable and had a private bath. The room overlooked the middle courtyard and was pretty quiet but the courtyard is very unattractive. The beds and bedding were adequate. The help at the desk spoke excellent English and was helpful. The bathroom was okay by European standards. There was a little nook with a desk, though our room did not get internet. We had to go to the lobby for the internet to work on our laptop. The lobby is spacious and comfortable. The TV had zero English channels -bummer. The biggest problem was there was no air conditioner or fan. It was cool and comfortable at night to sleep but a mid day nap or early bedtime was out of the question as the room was way too hot. So, hotel Berolina was a bit of a mixed bag. Overall I would recommend this hotel to budget travelers who would like to spend their money on the fun and adventure to be found outside the room. You can not beat the location.
“Great Location, Friendly Service”
This hotel was great! The service was wonderful. We were in Berlin for 1 night and liked the location of the hotel. Close to the train station and the memorial church. My only complaint would be that the bed was very hard, could have been a little softer, and would have liked more pillows (only had two total and my husband and I usually sleep with two each). Other than that, everything was great!
“Good location and cheap but limited facilities”
The hotel is very convenient for both the S-Bahn (3 stops from the central station) and U-Bahn being only a few minutes walk from each. There are a good number of restaurants and cafes around. We didn't take breakfast in the hotel, but used some of the numerous cafes nearby (at least two on the same street within 2 minutes of the hotel.) The reception area had a selection of newspapers and a free PC for internet access (although we had some trouble accessing some sites in the beginning.) Our room was on the first floor and was a good size and clean. The room faced to the back so there was no street noise, but the yard was nothing special to look at with some bins &c.. One night we were disturbed by other guest being rather noisy on the staircase. There was only one male shower & toilet room on the floor (for 8 rooms and 16 beds?). This wasn't too much of a problem for us, but I imagine that it could get annoying if everybody was wanting to use it at the same time.
“Good value for money, well located”
Very good location, close to Zoologischer garten which is well connected for the U-bahn (underground) and bus service to Tegel Airport. If your room is on the of the building it can be a bit noisy due to the bars and restaurants if you have the windows open at night, ear plugs do the trick. Friendly English speaking staff. Good local places to eat, try the side streets for something cheaper and better possibly better quality.
“fleabag!”
This hotel was cheap & u get what u pay for. My husband ended up in the hospital while on vacation. I needed a cheap place to stay near the hosp. with my stepdaughter. Tiny room, mold in shower which was tiny & very slippery, bath towels were the size of hand towels, free wifi doesn't work in room. Never stay here again.
