“Perfect for the Price!”

MY boyfriend and I are stationed here in germany and booked this hotel for memorial day weekend. IT is a very very reasonable price for the area and is in a great location. It should be noted that there is no air conditioning and that this is very common in germany, but I do jnot let that affect my review of this hotel. The hotels location is right off the strasse 17 juni, the road that leads to the brandedburg gate the tier garten and many monuments and sights. The room was very compact but perfect if you are staying less than a week and plan to spend most of your time enjoying berlin. We used the room only for sleeping and spent our days outside enjoying the sights and sun. The hotel offers guests a free bicycle to use during your stay, I reccomend you reserve them the night you check in because there are only 10. We used the bicycles for 6 hours and it was amazing to see berlin that way. The hotel also has computers with internet in most of the rooms.Our room did not have it but we did not miss it. They do not have wifi but they do have a hardline which may irritate some i pad users but should accomidate most laptop owners. There are numerous restraunts along the hotesl street. I highly reccomend the italian one. so good!. The staff speak great english and are very helpfull. The breakfast buffet was probably the best I have had from a german hotel. Delicious! Overall we were very satisfied and will definately use this hotel again the next time we are in Berlin!

“Wonderful location and hotel”

What a lovely hotel and in a great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Berlin was brilliant. Can't wait to go back. I have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Gates am Kudamm. Would definitely stay here again.

“A very good place to stay”

The Hotel is very well positioned, it is very easy to locate with the bus from the airport dropping you just around the corner from the Hotel. The Hotel is also very well located for eating out and for the shops. It is also reasonably close to the Tiergarden. The staff are very friendly and although the breakfast is not chaep it is very plentful. A very good place to stay.

“Good location in west Berlin”

We stayed here for two nights during the Athletics World Championships (Aug 2009) and were happy with our choice. Would note that there was no air conditioning in the room, but this wasn't a problem during our stay.

“Wonderful Hotel! Better than the 5 star we stayed in days before”

I WISH we would have stayed here first. We paid nearly double for a 5 star two weeks earlier. This hotel is in a wonderful part of town-Many great bars and restaurants, shopping, and site seeing. The hotel's staff was friendly and very helpful. The Internet access was free (20eu at the 5 star!), and there was even a laptop in the room. The rooms are very cool and comfortable. I have zero complaints and would not hesitate to stay here again. Don't let the lack of stars deter you!

“Great Little Hotel!”

I really liked this hotel; it's location is very convenient, yet it is tucked away in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant, but there's lots of good restaurants nearby. The staff is very helpful. I booked this hotel because it had free Internet access -- a terminal in every room! -- but I was impressed with the hotel overall.

“Can't wait to get back there...”

With my handy translation book in hand and a phrase or two in my head, I step up to the counter to find that the hotel staff are multi lingual. From then on every person of the staff treated me with every courtesy, at any time of the day. There was a PC with flat-screen monitor and free, unlimited internet.The restaurant was breakfast only and included items such as champagne and various fruit juices for momosa if you wish, lox, fruits and breads along with many spreads. There were also varing hot foods such as eggs, german style meat balls and potato cake. The location was perfect for the S and U Bahn trains and the bus was about 150 meters away. The hotel also offered the rental of an all transit pass for 4 Euro per day. Christmas was beautiful as was the Kris kindl Markt, which was a festival of sorts. Very friendly place to stay. I really cant wait to get back!

“This hotel really wowed me!”

I loved this hotel -- the rooms are modern, but not stark. All rooms have their own Internet terminal, and access is free. This was a big perk for me. The staff was very helpful, and their English was very good (at some foreign hotels, you get staff that speak only so-so English, but not here). I also liked the neighborhood. The street was lined with great restaurants and little shops. I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation!
