Clean and comfortable with helpful friendly staff
The staff were all friendly and helpful, the room (104, balcony overlooking garden) was clean and comfortable and in good repair. It is a quiet location, in a leafy side street, but close to transport and an easy 15 minute cycle or €15 taxi into the centre. I'd stay here again.

Great Hotel!
Came to Berlin to run the marathon, and couldn't have picked a better location! Hotel was great and very comfortable! Staff very helpful when I needed directions. So glad I decided to stay here!

We rented the apartment on the 6th floor which was fantastic. Unfortunately the elevator was broken and climbing the steps was not easy. We said something to the staff and was rudely informed that was too bad. The following day the new staff was nice and did not charge us the 10 euros for parking. Overall, the location was good. We were next to the Berlin Wall Memorial. Just needed the elevator!

A spacious clean hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Close to tram line and Berlin wall memorial. The bistro next door sells variety of snacks and drinks. There is a spacious garden area to the back with seating, ponds, table tennis and two swings. We had a lovely few days here, the only down side was no air conditioning, but could open windows so we didn't mind too much. Definitely recommend it.

I walked from nordbahnhof station to the berlin wall , then to hotel grenzfall. Following the route of the M10 tram. most poignant moment of my life was when i saw the window of rememberance. After that i tried to climb the berlin wall.

Grenzfall does what it does very well!
Berlin can be a bit hit and miss with hotels sometimes...fortunately, the Grenzfall can be relied upon to give exactly what you need from a visit to the city! The rooms are spacious and clean (it helps that they aren't carpeted but, although that seemed odd at first, the material they use is clean, warm and practical) and the fully opening windows add to the light feel. Location is superb being at the point where the Wall used to meet East and West at Bernauer Strasse, the more tourist centric part of the city is a fifteen minute walk or quicker from the M10 tram stop or U-bahn station around the corner. Incidentally, Mauerpark "flea" market is 500 yards away for a fun filled Sunday. The hotel prides itself of being inclusive in it's staffing make up and as such is well appointed for those with any mobility issues. The staff (especially Marion on reception) are helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating throughout the hotel...nothing was too much trouble. The garden was charming and never too busy even in the very pleasant weather I enjoyed and the café to the side of the hotel (connected) was again precisely what you need for a brief stop off. Whilst I was a little unsure about staying in a 3 star hotel, I couldn't have asked for better! All in all, I would certainly stay again and recommend to any visitor making a stay in Berlin to consider the Grenzfall as their base! (oh...and the shower was perfect!)

I loved how close it was to the Berlin Wall! This is why I chose the hotel. I also loved the balcony! Checking in was easy and the staff was very welcoming. The only reason why I didn’t give a perfect score is because there was no Air conditioning and the internet wasn’t the best.

The room was very spacious and clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly (and spoke English). We did not eat there, so we can't comment on the restaurant. The lack of carpets/rugs was a bit of a surprise, but explained by their desire to be fully accessible - great idea!

Good historical location and well maintained
Can't complain about my stay here. As a single traveller though it was slightly strange to be in a twin bedroom. However the room was nice and spacious and was always clean. Only downside for me was no tea making facilities in the room.

Nice hotel and friendly staff, only bad thing is the hotel was more for older people, me and my friends seemed to be only young ones there. However on another plus the city center and shopping mall was only about 7mins with taxi.

A delightful hotel with a beautiful garden.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this small, friendly, well appointed hotel. Our room had a spacious balcony that overlooked large and mature gardens where guests can sit, relax and read. . Even though we were in the city, we were awoken by birdsong. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a large en-suite with a highly efficient shower. The staff were friendly and welcoming and only too ready to answer any questions. There were plenty of choices for breakfast in the dining room which is adjacent to the gardens. We also enjoyed a couple of evening meals - very pleasant and some good choices for vegetarians. If you are looking for 5* luxury, this is not for you but for those of you who prefer something a little different. a little more personal this is just perfect. A gem close to the middle of the city.

The hotel has a unique atmosphere, it attracts thoughtful travelers rather than mass tourists. Very comfortable and clean with a beautiful garden; awesome breakfast. The staff is amazingly friendly and competent.

We stayed for 1 night while visiting a friend in Berlin. Service was excellent and our room was stylish and clean with comfortable beds. The garden is very nice and there is a handy Bistro attached to the Hotel. Location is good being right next door to the Berlin Wall memorial and a 5 minute walk to the nearest S-Bahn and a quick hop to the centre of town.

Close to the wall.
We stayed two nights at the Hotel Grenzfall and were very happy we picked this hotel. The hotel is about 200 metres from some of the remains of the Berlin Wall and some historic sites. Easy to get public transport to and from the hotel and a very good resturant on the premises.

I've stayed there for the second time and was very pleased with the overall experience. Uncomplicated and friendly. Probably not the most fancy hotel in Berlin but if you are looking for great service and good place to stay close to Berlin Mitte, then this is an excellent place. Will be back again next time when on Business in Berlin.
