Clean hotel with spacious room. Great location!Posted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: Location, clean and spacious room, friendly staff.
Cons: Tea/coffee facilities in the room.
Location: Close to U and S bahn and walking distance to interesting parts of Berlin.
Friendly staff, easy check in. Room is spacious, clean and had thoughtful touch such as bottles of water, glasses and small chocolate eggs and sweets in a bowl. Room was at the back and was quiet. Reasonably priced for where you are. Reception is on the ground floor and hotel on rooms on the second. It is part of a quiet apartment block and you ar4 given keys so you are free to come and go as you wish. Very short walk to the nearest U and S bahn stop. You can walk to a lot of points of interest from the hotel too and there are plenty of bars and restaurants (reasonably priced) nearby too. Breakfast was a good choice of rolls, cheese, meats, yogurts, cereal, juices, teas and coffee as well as boiled eggs etc. Not included in price but worth while for 6 euros a person. A pleasant stay and I would go to Hotel Novalis again.

Good hotel for sightseeingPosted Feb 7, 2014
Pros: The location and price were very good.
Cons: I would have preferred to sleep on cotton sheets rather than the nylon ones provided.
Location: Located close to north end of Friedrichstrasse. Good access to all museums and sites related to the Berlin Wall.
The hotel was conveniently located and easy to find. It's about a 15 minute walk from Friedrichstrasse station. All Berlin's main attractions are within easy reach either by foot or on the underground system. The hotel itself is reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice of cereals, bread, yoghurt, fruit, cold meats and cheeses.

Friendly, safe and quietPosted Jan 18, 2014
I chose this hotel because of the reviews I read and I wasn't disappointed. I was looking for a friendly and helpful environment where I felt safe as A woman travelling alone. It's a good, quiet, central location and ideal for visiting all the main attractions of Berlin. The propietors we're helpful, phoning a theatre for me, printing my boarding pass and being friendly and considerate. Breakfast is good and available from 8am til 10.30am. Maps are provided for tourists. The tariff is really reasonable for a central hotel in a capital city. I highly recommend it!

Very odd hotelPosted Apr 9, 2012 on Hotels.com
It was a great room and a good location. But the guy working there is only at the reception from 9 AM till 2 PM. I would have had no idea what to do if we got their after 2:00, I don't know how we would have checked into the hotel. When we checked out at 6 AM I just left the key in front of the door to the office because nobody was working. Really weird. Wouldn't stay there again just because of that.
