Stay at the Hotel Pankow
I did enjoy my stay very much. The shower was excellent which was very important when coming in from the cold. The receptionists were very cordial and helpful. One of them made an extra effort to help me locate a money exchange station. I was thankful for her help during my stay.

Nice staff, reasonably priced but a very long way from Central Berlin. Don't think this hotel is anywhere near the Pankow U2 station - it isn't - and Pankow is a very large area.

Everything was great, the only bad thing was that only one light bulb worked in the room and the bed sheets weren’t changed for a few days.

Parking was limited There was no mention or ability to reserve a parking spot on the reservation. By the time we got there it was full. Lucky to find a spot in front of hotel/

Really enjoyed this mid level hotel. It's not the Ritz but it is great for singles or families alike. Breakfast buffet is good and reasonably priced. Handy for transport and close to a large supermarket.

Good value hotel with easy transport access.
Good value, clean and easy access to transport if needed, trams stop outside the door. Just a few km away from the city.

if yur only sleeping, then not a bad place to stay
The Hotel smelled of smoke even in the rooms, it was a little tired the pillows were useless and there were stains on the sofa. not a fan of the nightclub noise either

Perfect for my needs - basic, comfortable, great staff and a decent breakfast. Only 15 minute drive from the city centre and handy for motorway and airport.

The room was very cold both nights. I asked for an extra blanket. It never arrived. I could not sleep so well because I was cold. Otherwise it could have been fair deal at that price

Pleasant hotel, nice staff, bit far out
The room was more than adequate - quiet and clean. It was good value for money. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, if at times a bit unresponsive. Breakfast ( 8 €) was good, with a nice range of fresh items. Transport into the centre of Berlin is a bit of an issue, although the Metro tram M50 stops almost outside the hotel. The problem is that the trams run rather infrequently in the evenings and at weekends ( either every 20 minutes or even every 30 minutes) However, the U2 line to/from U-Station Pankow is good as it takes you directly to Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstrasse, Potsdamer Platz and Kochstrasse ( Checkpoint Charlie). You have to reckon, for example, on 45 mins to an hour from hotel to Potsdamer Platz. The S-Bahn Station Pankow has a direct slowish, S-train to Schoenefeld Airport, which runs every 20 mins. and takes about 45 mins. So, again an hour and a quarter from hotel to airport. Staff were helpful with travellling info.

Comfortable hotel offering good value
I enjoyed my week's stay here. I chose the hotel because the cost of the room represented good value. Breakfast was an added option but at 8 euros was a substantial and good value start to the day. Reception staff were willing to offer assistance with maps and directions. A temporary disruption to the tram service meant an increased journey time to central Berlin although this was no fault of the hotel. The hotel is 4 to 5 miles from Alexanderplatz, and while its location was not problematic for myself as I have visited Berlin many times, there is little in the immediate vicinity for those interested in an active nightlife. Some snack meals could be purchased cheaply in the hotel bar, although I did not avail of these. At the prices charged I would consider returning to this hotel in the future.

Inexpensive hotel near public transport
Hotel Pankow is very reasonably priced and although a little outside the centre, it has a tramstop right in from of the hotel. The room was comfortable, clean but I did miss an electric kettle so I could make myself a cup of tea. Bathroom is very small and a bit outdated but sufficient for one person. No luxury and pillows and duvet were very much used.However I requested a cleaner pillow and was given one. the receptionists are very friendly and I was able to borrow an umbrella during some very rainy days.

Cozy hotel with convenience
The hotel has a cozy funky vibe, which for its intended purpose, it works. Its also super convenient to get onto the tram, which will take you to the main station for the S-Bahn, and from there a 15min ride to Downtown Berlin. The other convenience is that there is a supermarket across the street, where you can get your waters and whatnots. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Arriving into Germany, Johnny at the reception desk helped me with how I should get around, what ticket to buy, things to do in the general area. No complaints about the staff and how helpful they were. Because the hotel seemed old, there was that sense of it being not as well kept, but again the hotel is well worth the price for the fact that transportation was convenient and I had most of the hotel amenities. There is a fun bar at the ground floor too.

Best deal in Berlin with good location.
Loved hotel and it's location within 15 to 20 minute ride to downtown, Alexander Platz, and Brandenburg gate on tram, S-2 and U2 trains, NO problems at all getting around city. Staff was amazingly friendly and breakfast was good, also hotel cleanliness was very good. Overall it was a great trip to Berlin.

Hotel pankow was exactly what we expected, it looks exactly like the photos, staff were pleasant, the room was clean except from the floors when walking on them lots of dust & dirt stuck to our feet I had to buy slippers for walking about the room. The hotels location wasn't the best for us there wasn't much around us & had to get both a tram & the underground to get into the centre, which was easy enough to do.

Great Low Cost Hotel with Public Transportation
If you are looking for a low cost alternative to a hostel this is it! This hotel has reasonably priced hotel rooms and the public transportation to anywhere in the city including to Berlin Tegel is right on the front door step. A grocery store across the way that is well stocked was also very helpful to keeping costs low. Mostly Germans for business or german tourists stay here but the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good for 8 euros and they have a restaurant bar for nights. Would definitely stay her again.

Good location outside the city
The location which is a bit far from the city is great for those who wants to feel like a local and run from tourist area. Public transport is just outside the hotel and there is a supermarket opposite. I will certainly recommend this hotel!

A bit out of the way but ok if you need to be nearby. Room ok if very basic- no kettle/tea/coffee facilities in room which we British like! Travel a bit complicated from any of the shopping areas- several changes required using public transport- no direct bus/train or tram. Very limited later at night and not a particularly nice area. Staff a bit noisy in the morning- a tile floor in the corridor didn't help. Old fashioned keys- had to lock yourself in which could be a problem in an emergency. Staff nice enough.

Decent hotel pretty far from any point of interest
Clean, cheap rooms, staff were kind and tried to be helpful but their English was only so so. Internet was free and breakfast (8€) was nice. Too bad it's almost an hour to commute anywhere interesting!

Good budget hotel a short ride from Berlin
Easy check in. The room was spacious enough, had two single beds, a table, a sofa, closet, TV , and phone. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and my stay was restful. The canisters of soap in the bathroom were empty for a few days but that wasn't a big problem since I had soap. The breakfast was adequate but after a few days I wished they varied the menu a little. On the last morning I was a little put off when I returned to the room to pick up my things and found the door open and someone about to change the mattresses. I think that could have waited until I checked out. They were gone in the middle of it and I found my belongings unattended while door stayed open. Other than that, I was pleased with my stay and still would use it again.
