“Loved Berlin!”
We spent 4 nights at this hotel, which was described as central, but was around half hour's walk to the Reichstag. That said, we had lovely sunny weather and did not mind the walk to the sights, along by the river and the park. You could easily catch the bus/tube to the sights; there is a stop outside the hotel. The reception will sell you tickets and advise where the stops are. Our hotel room was on the first floor, the other side of the breakfast room. Our room had high ceilings and good floorspace; the bathroom had a shower and a bath. We were facing into a central courtyard and it was generally quiet. The breakfast is fantastic; lots of fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, hot food and juice. If you come to Berlin, we would recommend you book to visit the glass dome on the Reichstag, as you need to book 2 - 3 days in advance. You will also avoid long queues if you pre-reserve your tickets for the TV tower - well worth a visit as you get fantastic far reaching views of Berlin. All the hotel staff we met spoke excellent English. There was a useful guide in our room which suggested local restaurants such as Italian, Mexican, Bavarian and Indian/Asian food which is good news if you have been walking all day and do not want to walk much further! The Paulaner bar a short walk from the hotel serves fantastic Reisling. The owner recommended the bus/train to the airport for a much cheaper price than a taxi.
