Lovely centrally located hotel

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Clean comfortable spacious room which was very good value for money
Cons: Decor a little tired and shower curtain annoying. Could do with updating
Location: Location perfect and easy to get everywhere on very straightforward rail system. Lovely walk through tiergarten on sunny day.
Hotel is right next to ubahn station and within a 5 minute walk of main Sbahn station which literally means you can get around the whole of berlin with comfort and ease. Taxi from Tegel took 30 mins max and cost €20 approx. Hotel is very clean and very welcoming. The decor is a little tired in areas but rooms are very comfortable and clean with all you could need. We had asked for and were given a room at the back which was lovely and quiet. Hotel bars a little pricy but good and food ok but plenty of places locally to eat and drink. We didn't indulge in the breakfast although worth noting you do not have to have the full buffet but went to a lovely cafe a 3 minute walk away. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing break and we would certainly go back to this hotel again if returning.

Older part of the hotel not up to the party - very small rooms, dated. Was offered a refurbished room, but the price was much higher.

Expensive

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Pillows and pool
Cons: Room furniting
Location: Close to bus and metro and city bus tour pick up. No tourist attractions near by but plenty of shops and restaurants
This hotel overall was very good, although the rooms did look a bit tired and needed updating. The down side was the expense of everything in it breakfast 28euros each per day ( outrageous) a breakfast outside for two a good one at that would only be around 25 euro for two. The concierge tried to charge us 10 euro too much for a city bus tour and if the people from the tour company who saw our voucher and objected to what had been charged and rang the hotel we would have lost it. But overall it was a pleasant experience.

Perfect central position but also nice and quiet

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: The position and the decor makes it quite unique.
Cons: wifi can be improved
This is our fisrt time at the Kempinsky Bristol Berlin, we were only there for two nights but we enjoyed every second because you can be so close to the shopping and entartainment and also quiet and secluded at the same time.

Older Luxury hotel, needs updating

Posted Jun 1, 2014
Pros: Elegant lobby and construction with marble baths and wood furniture.
Cons: AC system and other updated creature comforts. Bath linens were threadbare.
Location: Great location with major sites within walking distance and public transportation stops on block.
AC system inadequate to keep room cool enough in warm weather. No thermostat control in rooms, just switch to turn AC on or off.

Air conditioning unit of the room is bad

Posted May 18, 2014 on Hotels.com
It was appalling to know that the air con unit of the room has no way of adjusting the air con temp (just comes with an on/off button) and the air con unit was really weak. When shared with the hotel staff, the advice they had was to open the window or bring up a ventilator ( this is not winter and I shd not need to open my window given the stature of the hotel). I think the hotel staff tried their best to help but clearly the facilities of the hotel makes you wonder if this is acceptable (in this day and age, there is just an on/off button and it serves more like a fan than an air con). Located closely to u bahn which is the saving grace in terms of convenience
