“Luxury on a budget!”

We were very pleasantly suprised by this hotel as we had booked it as a bargin last-minute stay and were a bit wary about the 4 star rating! However, it really did deserve all the good credit. It was a superbly clean, sleek and stylish hotel and the room and ensuite were very spacious with lots of lovely little touches. For example, there were good quality complimentary toiletries, an easy-to-work safe (that is big enough to fit a laptop in) and some fabulous triple glazing on the windows that means although the hotel is situated right on a busy road, you could not hear any road noise at all! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the hotel is perfectly situated in the middle of bustling East Germany. There is a supermarket about 3 minutes away for snacks and drinks and Alexanderplatz is a 5-10 minute walk away. I would definitely recommend a stay here!

“A true 5 star hotel”

We were extremely pleased with the hotel. Service was excellent, and a concierge was very helpful. The bed and pillow were heavenly; better than my bed at home. The room was quite large for a European hotel and very quiet. It's proximity to Alexander Platz made the location fine. Not much to do around the hotel, but by the time we came home after a full day of touring and dinner, we were ready to relax. The price was a very good value. We would definitely stay there again.

“Cheap and modern new hotel situated in East Berlin”

Great experience, low cost, new and modern with great location when sightseeing both East and West Berlin.

Check-in at this hotel is officially 3pm. We arrived at the hotel at 11am due to our ridiculously early flight from Stansted and the receptionist could not be more accomodating! She found us 2 rooms that were ready and next door to each other and allowed us to check in straight away. We were so grateful seeing as we'd been travelling since 3.30am. The hotel is very new, the lobby is lovely - very grand. The rooms are modern and have everything you need. The only down side is that rooms are fairly small. I travelled with 3 other girls, 2 girls in each room and there was still enough room to get ready before going out for the night. The beds are super comfortable and the showers are spacious and powerful. The hotel bar is very quiet though - perhaps some quiet music would improve the atmosphere. Location of the hotel is ideal. It is about 7-10 minutes walk from Alexanderplatz (the city centre). All attractions are accesible from here, as are the bus tours. Berlin is a great city and if I went back, I would definitley stay here again.

“Good hotel to stay at while visiting Berlin”

Very friendly staff, good location, good breakfast, clean rooms. Only negative was staff did not tell me about option for a one day city hop on/off bus ride so even though I was there for 1 day, I bought the 2-day pass. Overall very good experience

Heating in the bathroom should be considered, room service should have more choices. The rest is superb.

“Leonardo Royal Hotel - Very nice indeed :)”

A very nice and spacious room, a nice big shower. I was located on the first floor so my view was of the parking lot... other than that - the personell were very polite and professional. The hotel is located right by a U-Bahn station and also is a walking distance from Alexanderplatz. the WIFI prices are outrageous (18eu for 24 hrs!) - but there are 2 hotel computers that can be used freely and in case you carry your own laptop/other WIFI compatible device - there's a coffee place right across from the U-bahn station (2 mins. walk from the hotel) - that has free WIFI. Berlin is amazing. Have a blast!

“Small rooms but great value”

The hotel common parts are nice enough and of course new. The rooms are well decorated but very small. Bathroom sink looks nice but limits space for personal item storage. The shower is excellent! A bit of a bonus to have breakfast included in the price but they weren't just totally organised on the busy Saturday. They were on the ball the next day. The location feels a little out of it but with trams running from Alexanderplatz it's fine. If the price remains then it's great value for money however the size of the rooms really don't warrant paying more.

“Beautiful hotel in lousy location”

If you plan on doing no walking around this hotel and have your own internet service, this hotel is fine. But if you want to enjoy the neighborhood, walk to a prime train station, or use a reasonably priced internet service, go elsewhere. This hotel is around a 10-15 minute walk from anywhere nice. It's on a long highway near a big abandoned building, nondescript apartments, struggling businesses and cold-war era gloom. They do have a couple computers in the lobby for free internet, but I usually found a line waiting to use it. I was charged around 9 euros for just one hour of internet connection and when it came time to pay they mistakenly had me down for 24 hours. The hotel itself is spiffy modern with the latest Grohe hardware and chic lobby. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The Leonardo is recommended only for those who don't care about the outside atmosphere, convenient location, and reasonable internet service.
