Erstklassiges Hotel

Posted Jun 30, 2015

Close To Transportation To Anywhere In Berlin

Posted Jun 30, 2015
The hotel staff were fine. The room was fine. This hotel charges you for everything - internet, breakfast, etc. compared to other hotels we have stayed at in Europe. We really liked that it was close to the U & S stops and that trams were easily accessible from there.

Ottimo albergo al centro di Berlino

Posted Jun 21, 2015

Another great stay

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Cons: The breakfast is just too crowded. The staff does a great job even with the large numbers. Could other rooms be opened?
It has been another excellent stay at the melia. Superb service and breakfast offerings. The hotel is in a prime location.

Great Location, Nice New Hotel

Posted Jun 19, 2015
Pros: Great location, modern new and clean, great value.
Cons: Power points at heads of bed; slightly more storage, a kettle.
Melia is a very good hotel, at most only a couple of years old, in a great part of Berlin with fantastic transport links. My room was large, clean and bright, with good quality fixtures and fittings. The bed was comfortable, although not superb, and disappointingly I was given a twin rather than a double (even though a lone traveller, I sleep in a double at home so why wouldn't I want one when away). The room didn't have a kettle, and storage was limited to the spacious wardrobe - fine for me, but I could see there being an issue if a couple were staying for more than a few nights. The bathroom was clean, modern and well lit, with shower-over-bath and a bidet. The room had plenty of power outlets (although none at the head of the bed), a room safe and a fridge/minibar that had space for me to keep a few items of my own. Wifi was was than average, with a limited free offering and a fast/unlimited option at approx. 5 Euro. Public areas were clean, well maintained and lit, and felt secure, with door key required to activate the lifts. The staff were friendly and helpful and spoke good English. The location is fantastic - the hotel is right on the Spree and Friedrichstrasse, with the U-Bahn, S-Bahn, DB and Trams immediately all within 100 yards. Museuminsel is a 5-10 minute walk and Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie 10-15mins away. There is a direct train from Friedrichstrasse station to Schoenfield Airport (and to Brandenburg-Berlin when it eventually opens).

Very clean and good staff

Needed taxi to train station but close to other transportation. Walkable to city attractions. Breakfast nice but expensive. Didn't expect tapas restaurant in Berlin. Rather have German food

Comfortable and very centrally situated.

There is little to criticise about The Melia, which is ideally situated for exploring Berlin. Close to lots of restaurants and travel options, I would definitely stay here again.

Tolles Hotel,super Lage

Posted Jun 17, 2015

Excellent hotel convenient position

Posted Jun 16, 2015
Pros: Comfort, cleanliness, very helpful staff, and super location.
Cons: At least one brighter light in the bedroom.
Location: Visit all of Berlins landmarks. Close to the station. Recommend the hop on and hop off bus tours, and the three hour river cruise in the evening.
We spent four nights in this hotel. Our first trip to Berlin, disappointed with the state of the centre of the city, it looks more like a building site. The whole of the Unter Den Linden is covered in building equipment, cranes and water pipes. The Museum Island is also being renovated. However, Berlin is an interesting city with plenty to see, and to return each day to Hotel Melia was a great pleasure. The situation of the hotel could not be improved, with every landmark within walking distance. The main station and underground literally on the doorstep. I would particularly mention the concierge who was extremely helpful. Breakfasts were amazing, eaten in the restaurant overlooking the river and street. Plenty of restaurants very close by. All in all a lovely stay, would recommend this hotel to all.
