“Comfortable hotel in a handy location.”

Friendly, helpful staff, spacious room. Only downside was our room was on the ground floor on the courtyard so a bit of noise from dishes/tables/people talking etc. No air-conditioning but we got a fan from reception which helped. About 15 mins walk from Potsdamer Platz but 1 min from Underground. Hotel sells some travel tickets which cover U, S, bus, tram in zones (A and B covers the city almost completely) and we bought 7 day tickets 27Euros at the info shop at Brandenburger Tor. Nice and easy to get from the hotel to nearby suburbs like Kreuzberg for cafes/bars. Overall very happy with this hotel (also, taxi to Tegel airport 20Euros).

Great value for money - Ideal location

“I would not hesitate to recommend the Mercure Hotel Berlin Mitte.”

Despite being located in a drab street, please don't be put off. The hotel is lovely the staff are very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. To get to the heart of Berlin takes about a 15 minute walk, but the Anhalter Bahnhof (rail station) is only five minutes away where you can get to all parts of Berlin on a day ticket very cheaply, you can actually buy these tickets at reception. A taxi is no more than 5 minutes away the hotel is happy to call one for you. All in all I was very happy to stay at this hotel and would have no hesitation staying here again.I felt very safe walking around Berlin, far more than I do in London! I didn't have the breakfast because of too much sightseeing to do, but there are many great restaurants along Willhelmstrasse which leads to the Brandenburg Gate, with food for all tastes and budgets. Be sure to go on a couple of the Berlin Walking Tours, you learn a heck of a lot in a few hours!

Very Clean and comfortable with friendly staff, the location is ideal for sightseeing city break being next door to the railway station (far enough away to be quiet)I would certainly reccomend it.

Slightly out of the way and not especially attractive location but very convenient for the underground (altough cloes proximity meant you could hear the trains). The staff were friendly and helpful. Even when we were late wanting a snack, it was not a problem. Ask them for help or information and it's given (much as we found everywhere we went in Berlin). “Ideal location”

Have stayed at this hotel several times and it never fails to be a good stay. Very friendly staff and a perfect location just on the edge of the main attractions. U-Bahn station is about 50 yards away so you can travel around anywhere. Only grip on this occasion was that I booked a superior room and was put in a standard room so that was a waste of money, apart from that this hotel is superb.

“Close to transport, but not much else”

This hotel wasn't too bad. It was a very long way from much of anything other than the U-bahn though. I went to eat one evening at about 7 and had to walk for about half an hour before I found anything. The nearest ATM, I was told, was "three stops down the Metro line, then in the shopping complex a block over". As a place to sleep it's nice enough. The staff were extremely helpful, the room was clean and of a reasonable size. The U-bahn goes often enough that the location isn't a problem at all. Just don't expect any night life or anything like that. All up I'd stay here again, as getting around via trains is a breeze in Berlin.

“Excellent little hotel”

Thehotel is ideal for a quick break in Berlin. It is located only 50 metres from 2 U Bahn lines so getting around is fantastically easy. Stadtmitte is 5 mins on U2 and Alexander Platz is about 10 mins away on the same line. Not a picturesque neighbourhood but everything else is great. I've stayed in 5* Hotels on business loads of times and this beats most of them on nearly everything. Wholeheratedly recommended.

“An easy stay”

Good quality room, very clean (staff even folded abandoned clothes neatly), very polite and welcoming. Nothing to complain about at all, easy access from the u-bahn, albeit a 'strange' location.
