Nice hotel, centrally located

Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: Very clean and within walking distance to a lot of attractions, restaurants, shops and the U-bahn
Cons: Nothing that I can think of
Location: Lots of attractions and museums within walking distance, together with restaurants, shops and the U-bahn
I spent 5 days in Berlin - this being my third visit to this great city. Wonderful museums and lots of attractions to walk to if you wish. I can also recommend a nice trip on on the river and also a visit to Unterwelten. I took a walking tour this time and thanks to a very good guide, I learned more on this trip than the other two trips put together. A wonderful city and very friendly.

Very good hotel in great location.

Pros: A modern hotel with a very nice room and the location.
Cons: The staff didn't seem too friendly.
Location: The location is excellent for a visit to Berlin. Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag and much more is within walking distance.
The Mercure is a very good hotel in a great location, ideal for a visit to Berlin. It is very close to Checkpoint Charlie and within walking distance of the Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag along with many other notable buildings.

Good location.

Location of hotel is good. Near Checkpoint Charlie. Easy availability of bus/hop on hop off/ taxis. We had 2 rooms. One was nice and comfortable but the other one was weirdly structured. Breakfast spread was good. Wifi is complimentary and works. Room heating was not working though.

Perfect Berlin Getaway

Posted Jun 11, 2014
The hotel is on a quiet street with a little garden courtyard. The room was excellent value for money, large with a private deck. Lovely comfortable bed, couch, separate toilet, and a great nespresso-type coffee maker with wonderful coffee in the room, plus fridge/mini bar. The staff were helpful, and the breakfast was fantastic. Fresh fruit, yogurts, great coffee, jams, breads, eggs, etc, etc. Close to Checkpoint Charlie, the Konzerthaus, the Underground, and of course, the largest chocolate shop in the world Fassbender & Rausch. The Martin Gropius museum is also within walking distance as is the Stasi museum. I will definitely be back for the Christmas Markets. Highly recommend.

Upgraded for 6 days!

Posted May 30, 2014
Pros: It was situated in a quiet road. but within 10 minutes walk there were nice little cafes and larger restaurants. The hotel staff were very helpful.
Cons: Please put a kettle in the bedrooms! There was a coffee maker, but this was absolutely no use if you did not drink coffee & wanted to make tea!!
Location: In a quiet road, but near to Checkpoint Charlie (very busy!) and two U-bahn stations & just a 5 minute walk to pick up the excellent Sightseeing Bus.
As we had booked 6 nights at Hotel Mercure and wanted a bathtub in the bathroom as well as a shower the Receptionist kindly upgraded us to a suite on the 8th floor which did indeed have a lovely large bathroom as well as a small lobby room. It was very quiet and we were very comfortable there. Hotel Reception could always call a taxi for us within 10 minutes & they were very efficient.

I would recommend elsewhere

I would recommend elsewhere. No elevator and it didn't seem to be a priority.

Close to many sites

This is a nice hotel close to many sites you will want to visit. There was a problem with our room so they put us up at a 5 star hotel for 1 night. Recommend.

Central location

Posted May 6, 2014
Pros: As above
Cons: Nothing really
This was a very nice hotel with great facilities, I thought it was good value for money. The breakfast was excellent and the staff welcoming, efficient and pleasant. We were within walking distance to all that Berlin had to offer. The area was lovely and nice walks and attractions, an added bonus was the French restaurant EntrecĂ´te which was on the same street. We would book again, I have already recommended the hotel to my friends
