“Excellent service. Friendly hotel”

Great customer service. Very good breakfast buffet. Comfortable, clean rooms. Wifi available. Friendly staff who greet you with a smile. Neat hotel that contributed to an exciting Berlin experience. Would stay here again!

“A pleasure”

The staff was excellent and the service was great. It's located in a business area, so it's pretty deserted at night, but it felt safe. There are convenient connections to two subway lines a block-and-a-half away, so you can get pretty much anywhere you need to go. They gave me a free upgrade to a two-story suite, which was very luxurious. You have to ask for kitchen supplies, though. I wished this information had been posted somewhere; I wound up borrowing stuff from a relative and didn't find out I could have simply asked until check-out. Internet connection was excellent.

“Very comfortable, pleasant experience”

Very friendly, helpful staff, comfortable, spacious room. One caveat: Upon check-in, the clerk commented that we have one of the nicest rooms (a former apartment, 2 stories with a patio and 2 bathrooms) separate from the main hotel building. Everything about this room was great, but the clerk's comment makes me wonder if that was the exception, so I can't vouch for what the rest of the rooms are like.

“Great Location/Great Staff”

The standard room was large even for North American standards. The staff was helpful and very friendly. The location was perfect. It was near all the major sights. Checkpoint Charlie was around the corner!! The neighborhood was nice. Great for solo travelers. There were cafes around the corner. Try Aroma--great food and value. I would always stay at this hotel when in Berlin. No complaints.

“Great hotel, perfect location, excellent service”

Room are very spaces, well designed comfortable and clean. Located in the center of berlin, walking distance from checkpoint Charlie. Would most definitely go back again.

“Great stay at Residenz Checkpoint Charlie”

The front desk staff was extremely helpful, English speaking, and courteous. We mentioned it was our first time in Berlin and were upgraded to an "apartment" on the Residenz side of the hotel, which was enourmous and a welcome surprise after staying in several tiny rooms throughout Europe. The surrounding area felt safe and was quiet, as well as the hotel itself. Very comfortable bed as well as the room. Within 1 block of a small grocery store and several restaurants. 15-20 min. walk to Potsdamer Platz. Very nice hotel.

“Would stay again.”

Very large room, very clean, conveniently located. Close to subway station, about 200m. Close to several attractions. Only draw back was cost, too high for a four star hotel. Felt like paying a five star hotel. May be because of yearly Berlin marathon, which attracted thousands of people downtown.

“Very Impressed!!”

We had a one bedroom apartment with an upstairs. Lovely and large. The only drawback was that we could not get a key to access the upstairs which was on the 6th floor. We had to enter thru the living room on the 5th floor. This was inconvenient since we either had to drag luggage up a flight of stairs, or someone had to go in the 5th floor and go up the i stairs to the 6th floor and open the door from the inside and then have someone take the luggage to the 6th floor and take the luggage in while you held the door open.
