The staff was beyond helpful and friendly. This is typical of German hotels and the culture. They really go out of their way to help, without discrimination. The rooms are not that big, but they are super clean, comfy and have balconies.

Comfortable and friendly
Friendly check-in, comfortable and clean room, good coffee in the restaurant downstairs. They even fixed a minor issue with the bathroom sink over a holiday after I reported it, even though I said it wasn't urgent.

The service and greeting of staff were kind and sincere. The breakfast was prompt and tasty. Rooms were clean and were nicely decorated. There could be kettles and more complementary water.

I had a few issues with the services and the room during my 5 days stay at NEWBERLIN hotel. What was great is the location, kitchen and the personnel running it as they were very friendly and helpful serving lovely breakfast and dishes. However, the reception desk team need some training in customer care and communication skills to listen to complaints and respond accordingly. Thank God, the management of the hotel was very responsive and took action to resolve the issue. Hope this was a one time off incident not to be repeated again. Thanks to all the staff for their hard work.

Sewage smells. Poor infrastructure.
On the surface, this hotel looks fine… clean dining area, friendly staff… However, the infrastructure was horrible. The AC did not work for the first 2 days. The temperature in my room was 26 degrees Celsius (about 78 degrees Fahrenheit). The safe never worked. It was broken the entire time. I was personally trapped in the elevator two times and had to ring an emergency bell and wait for a group of people to pull the elevator doors open with their fingers. But the worse part of my stay, by far, was the constant stench of sewage in my room. Yes. Sewage! There was an open drain on the floor of my bathroom that didn’t seem to empty itself. I notified the reception and they didn’t seem surprised, but also didn’t fix it. I put towels on top of the drain and tried to keep the bathroom door closed so that I could breathe when I was in the room, but the stench was overpowering and I began to have headaches. My toiletries, toothbrush and other items smelled of sewage even after I had left the hotel and I am still surprised that there was no attempt on the part of a manager to apologize for this terrible inconvenience.

Fine hotel - smokey room - nice food.
This was my first stay in the NEWBERLIN. It is close to the Landsberger Allee train (one stop on the M). The hotel is classy with a fine restaurant and the rooms are spacious. The street outside is noisy, but the double-windows handle that well. My only issue was that the room smelled heavily of smoke, even for Germany (though I booked non-smoking on Hotels.com) and the property was fully booked, so no other room was available. I ended up sleeping with all of the windows open and ear-plugs (not pleasant). On the upside, the rooftop spa (with Sauna) was amazing as was the restaurant and staff.

A cosy place to stay
Superb place to stay! A cosy & small hotel with a friendly staff. Excellent & delicious breakfast. You can use sauna freely.( Only minus was that in the sauna there wasn’t a water bucket for throwing water over the hot stones. It’s important in the Finnish sauna. )The location is excellent, if you want to be near all good techno clubs. Very good public transportation connections. Nice restaurants, where to eat, are very near. It’s also located in a quiet place, so you can sleep your nights peacefully. There was also a balcony included in the room. All amenities were good. I would like to stay here again, when I come to Berlin next time.

Location was fantastic. Close to trams and buses. A short walk to stunning Volkspark. Room was spacious and clean. Staff were helpful and attentive. Breakfast had a great selection. I really my stay here and would stay again.

Fantastic location with cafes and shops nearby. Close to all types of public transport. Room was lovely to stay in, a lot on offer for breakfast and staff were great. I hope to stay there again.

30th anniversary trip
The staff in the hotel were excellent, very pleasant and helpful. We were staying as part of our 30th wedding anniversary, and the hotel allowed us to have our sons and their partners over for breakfast, on the day we left, and had beautiful flowers on the table. We felt the rooms quite warm, and due to the busy road the hotel is on, couldn't really open the windows, but I think most hotels in Berlin would be like this. I would definitely stay again, it's a lovely, small hotel with very friendly staff and great service.

Interesting place, felt very old but rennovated in the 90’s or something - the bathroom was nice, and the room had a balcony but nothing on it. There was a new looking old school shaggy rug in the room that felt like I was in some dudes bachelor pad who landed a successful job right out of college. The upsides: staff was kind, breakfast was good, and the sauna and sauna lounge area was great. I would go back for those things, but everything else felt strange. It was expensive for what it was but I did book the day of.

The Hotel was lovely and a nice space away from the buzz of Alexanderplazt. Initially when we went to the room it smelt of drains and smelt very stale so I was very dissapointed. Once we opened the windows the smell went quickly which was a relief. If it hadn't I would have asked for a new room. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Overall I enjoyed the Hotel but thought the rooms were a bit 'tired' and could do with an upgrade. I would stay again.

Lovely Boutique Hotel Option
Great breakfast, fast check in, wonderful and friendly staff, great neighborhood, stylish room, lovely marble in the bathroom, excellent soundproofing, wonderful toiletries, clean linen and towels, excellent housekeeping, decent wifi signal, nice balcony, mini bar offerings, good lighting in the room, lovely decor. Hotel has excellent transportation connections with trams 10, 5, and 6 a short distance away. Good selection of restaurants in the area. Hotel has a sauna on 6th floor and a small spa that offers services. I booked a back and neck massage and it was ok--nothing special but it was relaxing and at a decent price. I didn't like the fact that the room has a shag type carpet and pets are allowed to stay at the hotel. The wifi signal was a bit weak in some locations of the property. Also, the mattress was too soft for my preferences. But it was a wonderful stay and I would return again.

Nice hotel. Kudos to Veronika and Jessica for their interpersonal and customer service skills. They made a huge difference in our stay. The shortcomings of the accommodations were overlooked as a result of the great assistance of these two staff members. The NewBerlin should be very proud of such employees

A great place to stay
Berlin weekend taking in 2 concerts at the Mercedes Arena, 25 min walk/7 min team. Cool trendy area of Berlin, lots of bars and restaurants within a short walk. But the Boston Grill at the Hotel does a mean steak and the staff there are nice and relaxed. Highly recommended Hotel. Will use again if need to be in the area

Amazing hotel with great price
This was an amazing hotel. The room was modern, UpToDate, and felt very elegant. Modern amenities in bathroom as well. The breakfast was simply amazing. A lot of different choices daily, and the service was great as well. Close walk of 4-5 minutes to two different tram stations, which will take you into center of Berlin. i really enjoyed my stay here and would comeback to this hotel!

Very trendy but not much comfort
Walking into the room you could see that it had been carefully designed, it looked good, but ....... Nowhere just to sit and be, even the bed had a wrought iron bed head that was impossible to lean against. Very little storage space. Drinks fridge but no tea/coffee making facilities Trendy TV with cable, but only programs in German. Only English language program on the menu was BBC News, at that didn’t work! Boring Breakfast, choices were identical every morning. Restaurant was expensive
