NH Berlin Friedrichstrasse

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: The location and staff
Cons: Fitness room should have free weights, a medicine ball and all equipment should be in working order, which it was not .
Location: easy access to S and U trains, many key historic siteseeing sites. Concierge help was excellent.
Well situtated in central Berlin, this hotel is a good base for siteseeing and only one train stop from the main raliway station. The fitness facility was definitely substandard. The breakfast was first rate but at 22 Euros is comparable to nearby restaurants. Air conditioning was adequate. Staff was very helpful

Great location, value, and friendly.

Posted Aug 15, 2014
We stayed here for 5 days to see the sights of Berlin. It was all we hoped for and more. Across the street from the rail station which offered convenience for transportation it also had shopping. Several cafes/restaurants across from the entrance. The Tex Mex up the block was excellent and the bagel shop next door was also a great start to the day. The hotel was very clean and safe. Everyone spoke English and was helpful. We thought the breakfast was overpriced considering the options available around hotel.

Good hotel adjacent to Bahnhof Friedrickstrasse

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Location and overall quality of the hotel.
Cons: A minor point was the room thermostat was somewhat difficult to use.
Very good hotel, helpful staff, well-furnished rooms. The location was very convenient, immediately across the street from the Bahnhof Friedrickstrasse, which is centrally located. The train station has a substantial grocery store among other things. Despite the busy location the room was very quiet.

Just ok, good location for sightseeing

Posted Aug 4, 2014
The hotel is located right next to a train station, all forms of public transport, and lots of shops. It's walking distance to the Brandenburg gate, unter der linden, museum island, and the Gendarmenmarkt. The location made our sightseeing very easy. The hotel itself was ok. We were unfortunate enough to get a room overlooking the train tracks. It wasn't too loud for us, but being urban dwellers we are used to that kind of noise. Others may have an issue with it. Our double bed was two twins pushed together and we each got a twin blanket (which was fine but weird). The wifi was fine. They were stingy with towels (just one big one per person). Also the air was not on once we took our card out of the room so when we came back to the room it was hot. The tv only has cnn and bbc world news channels in english. We did not have the breakfast (starbucks and mcdonalds just outside). The staff were friendly but hit or miss on helpfulness. Some of them knew more on directions than others. We did not spend much time there and it was convenient for sightseeing, but not for the restaurants we went to for dinner in prenzlauer berg or mitte north of the river. We paid a little more than 100$/night which was fair. I think if we had paid more I would have been more dissappointed.

Great central location

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Comfortable and quiet room at rear.
Cons: Guest robes would be nice:)
Location: Easy walk to Riverside for boat cruises and outdoor dining and to Reichstag and Museum Island. Access straight onto street for variety of city stores.
Walking distance to several key attractions and 2 min access to Freidrichstrabe Station (train). Great location, staff at reception extremely helpful and the concierge saved us a long wait for Permagon Museum tix by pre-booking them.
