“More than standard Novotel quality”

This hotel is few steps from the Tiergarten S-Bahn station and in a very nice neighborhood if you like to run or walk in the mornings. Hotel staff speaks very good english (actually %99 of the people in Berlin speaks fluent English) and very helpful. Room was spacious and very clean. I had a very good deal from expedia.

Area recommendations

Berlin is one of the very nice and entertaining cities in Europe. Museums, restaurants, nightlife, shopping. So many to choose from..

“Great Hotel in every way!”

I was very happy when I arrived at this hotel. It was just two stops away from the main train station by the S-Bahn. The hotel was very nice and modern. Although our room faced the S-Bahn station, I didn't really hear noise from it when the windows were closed. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had along our trip with too many choices of what to eat. An extra bonus if you are there on Saturday morning - just outside the breakfast room/lobby area - a swap meet with antiques, silver, steins, just about everything (including junk too). It was alot of fun getting to shop there and we found some really fun deals to bring home as souveniers!

“Highly recommend”

“Convenient location as just accross Station”

Positives - Location, it is very convenient and just accross tiergarten station which again in 2 stops from Hauptbahnoff Main. Check in was convenient. Clean and well maintained rooms. We did enjoy the stay there. Negatives - Hotel staff were more inclined to book you on some organised tour as against providing more information about how we could get around by ourself. Room service was not there so you need to stock up. Limited eating options at the restaurant.

Tiergarten was a good buy considering its proximity to the berlin zoo and Hauptbahnoff main railway station and lot of greenery around. But incase you are lookin for more action u need to be closer to the town so would suggest stay at hotels on alexander platz, under de linden.

“Nicely Loacted”

We arrived late in the evening via taxi from the Zoo stop just down the road. We were traveling with children and after a long day of flights and trains we opted not to get on another to go down to the Tiergarten stop. The Taxi was 9 euro for 6 passengers and all our luggage. The hotel is in a fairly nice area but we did see several "women of the night" standing along the street just across from the hotel. The hotel reception was great and check-in was prompt. Our rooms were fine and my only complaints were that one of our tvs initially had no sound, there was no blanket for the pull-out bed and there were no washcloths. They did fix the volume on the TV. Room service is very limited but fairly priced. The breakfast buffet that was included with our Expedia purchase was WONDERFUL! It includes a full buffet with cereals, yogurts, breakfast meats, waffles, pastries, fruits, cheeses, cold cuts and more. I would recommend the hotel off of the breakfast alone. This was a great $$ saver for us as we were travleing as a family of 6. The Tiergarten train stop is just across the street and will connect you to anywhere in the city. Granted you will need to make connections but you can get back from most anywhere. I would recommend that you purchase the BerlinWelcomeCard through Expedia for unlimited public transportation in Berlin. We had a late flight out on our last day and the hotel happily held our luggage for us after checkout. The "play area" is quite small and not well equipped.

“Berlin great hotel”

Great Hotel, free Internet access on the Business Center with two great Apple Macintosh systems, great breakfast and friendly receptionists. The room was very good and the shower was lovely. The train station was just crossing the street.

“Great hotel, fun city”

Don't believe people who tell you everyone speaks English in Berlin-I was so glad I studied basic tourist expressions on CD. Many cab drivers spoke no English at all. We found the food to be very good everywhere-even the cheap meals! Must do: 4 hour Segway tour around Berlin, our guide Mariette was fantastic and we saw at least 20 highlights of the city,it gave us a great overview and was loads of fun.The best money we spent! Don't miss Sachsenhausen concentration camp-they have headphones so you don't have to take a tour, but if you cab there,be sure to say concentration camp because there is a Sachsenhausen 4 hours away. 4 cabbies in a row told us it was too far until I figured it out. The zoo is the best I have seen anywhere in the world - don't miss the lions gnawing on raw meat five feet from you. Animals looked healthy and were actually chasing each other around. Saw white wolves devour a bird that flew into their area. Botanical garden was lovely. Tiergarten flea market on the weekends definitely worth a visit. Photography museum with Helmut Newton exhibit was great. Ganymede Restaurant on the Spree was great if you're craving French food. 12 Apostles great for pizza. Public transportation was cheap and efficient, cabs pricey but sometimes you need them! Pergammon museum worth a quick visit.Berlin wall art gallery amazing. If you're young, the club scene at night is WOW! Don't bother to gou out before midnight, though, and plan to get back with the dawn. Berlin=fun!

I'm no help on this one - we were not traveling around the city with that in mind. We were more than happy with the location of our hotel because transportation was so easy. Got an AMAZING price on this hotel through Expedia - at the time I booked, it was cheaper than hostels. This is truly a 4 star hotel, just wish they would get better mattresses. No concierge services, either. Free printing from computers through front desk.
