“Good place if you want to visit the museum”
Close to the museums but a little far away from the main tourism and shopping area.
“Great bang for the buck.”
Fantastic hotel. Less than one block from a subway stop. All employees were super friendly and spoke english...very helpful for giving tips as well. Rooms were large for price and had nice clean bathrooms. It is in a good location, Mitte...but off busy main street so not necessarily surrounded immediately by bars and restaurants. Quick subway ride away though.
“a good deal for your money”
The hotel was very close to Alexander Place, and the underground is only two blocks from the hotel, nice nice breakfast , and the rooms are big for what you pay in other parts of Europe. I really like.
“Excellent Value, Close to Sites, and Hearty Breakfast”
The rate we got at the Novotel was very reasonable. The hotel is not on a quaint side street or anything, and appears to cater to business people, but overall it is a great value. Breakfast was fresh and hearty, and the room was clean, spacious (by European standards), and modern. The hotel is walking distance to a U-Station, and to many central sites in Berlin. Big plus. CON: No Wi-Fi!! (well, it was offered but for a significant fee). To make matters worse, the "business center" consisted of two slow computers that required lengthy log-on procedures. Most hotels I stay at in Europe have free Wi-Fi, and for a major hotel like Novotel, I was surprised this was not offered. If I was managing this place, I would cough up the little extra investment, and offer free Wi-Fi to my guests. It goes a long way these days.
“Short walk to center of town”
While the immediate neighborhood is nothing special, it is a short walk to Alexanderplatz, the Nikolai Viertel, subways, and everything else in the center of town. Excellent hotel staff. Room was clean and a good size for the time we spent in it. If you need internet access in your room, ask about it at check in so you get the right kind of room and plan from the start. It will cost extra.
“Very confortable stay”
Hotel in a very good condition, confortable and large rooms.
“Television”
Only two English speaking TV stations. English subtitles were not available. After a long day of sightseeing with a lot of walking, we looked forward to relaxing with a movie.
