“Would return to this Hotel”

Would go back to this hotel again. Very central and convenient. Staff appeared friendly. The room was very comfortable. A very good hotel for a short visit to Berlin. Decoration was a little dated but nevertheless was well kept. The breakfast was excellent. Well cooked and and plenty of choice. It was a self service buffet and the trays were kept well topped up. No hanging around waiting for trays to be refilled. Excellent.

“Westalgie!”

This place is no "5-star" with "heavenly bed"--it is an underrenovated Cold War classic in line with its surroundings near West Berlin's KuDamm. Retro furnishings, cheeky service, a great breakfast and a good location for getting the West Berlin experience. Great place, cheap online rates.

This is a great, reasonably priced hotel in a great location. The complimentary breakfast is excellrnt and the staff is very professional.

“Best location, breakfast, Internet”

I had booked the cheapest room, but its quality was so bad. I got so disappointed when I checked in. But for a little bite more per night I upgraded my room to a comfort room. the comfort room was very nice and newly renovated. Free Internet was excellent. Breakfast was included in my room and it was the best. free beer, water, apple juice was included and amazing. Oh, one more thing: the location was excellent. right beside the subway and the main shopping district in Berlin. Everything was around: convenience store, pharmacy, restaurants, etc. KaDeWe was 1 minute away from the hotel. I love Berlin!

“Excellent location for visiting Berlin”

This hotel was very well situated for visiting all tourist sights just a few minutes walk from the zoo and for all transport links- very easy to walk also to local attractions and shops. The hotel was close to many local restaurants for evening meals.The breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide selection - I had been attracted to this hotel because of the reviews- and it was true- there was champagne and chocolate cake for breakfast!! The rooms were comfortable if a little worn but certainly 3 star quality.The only downside was the lack of tea/coffee making facilities- water was provided but beware- we were charged 5 euros per bottle- there was no warning of this and in all other hotels I have stayed in water has been provided free.

“Quite Funky”

As chain hotels go, this is one of the nicer ones. It was decorated colourfully and had pictures and chandeliers everywhere. Breakfast was nice and not many Berlin hotels came with breakfast.

“Great hotel, great location”

Fab hotel, 5 mins walk from zoo station - don't listen to info person in station who tells you to get a bus! 2 mins walk from the zoo and aquarium which was well worth a visit. When coming out of hotel if you go left you are 2 mins walk from Ku De We (think that's right?!) the huge department store - make sure you visit the food hall on the 6th floor - fantastic. The 100 bus (from the road you get to turning right out of the hotel) does pretty much the same route as the city tour buses, about 15 mins to brandenburg gate etc. Nice bar in hotel, reasonably priced bar snacks and drinks. Breakfast fab, pretty much anything you might want, even make your own waffles! Wouldn't even bother looking anywhere else if i went back to Berlin, would just book here again.

“Good location & friendly staff!”

The hotel was a good location, just across the square from an U-bahn station and within walking distance of the main shopping district of Berlin, with a good choice of restaurants in the area. The staff at the reception desk were very welcoming, there were no queues and it took them less than a minute to check us in. We were early to arrive but they did not make us to wait, we were handed our room key there and then and we were straight up to our room to drop our bags. The room was clean but basic, however the bathroom was dingy and very dated but it was functional! Breakfast was 10 euro each and from a distance seemed a good spread, however the cooked breakfast looked very, very greasy and the pastrys were hard and the choice of fruit was minimal, but there was a good selection of cerials and teas and once again the service was very pleasant. Upon check-out (which was at a generous time of 12pm) this took another half-minute and they were very happy to keep our bags in a safe room whilst we finished off our sightseeing. All in all, a budget and people friendly hotel!
