We enjoyed our second stay at this hotel. We selected this hotel as it has parking and is at a great location for us. The hotel was very comfortable and staff were friendly, and the breakfast was good. Close to the underground, shopping and sights.

Location was good with easy access to S bahn and U bahn. Rooms were poorly maintained and were not very clean. Cramped quarters but adequate is not planning on staying in the room for any extended time. Air conditioning did not work but windows would open. Staff unresponsive to requests on multiple occasions.

Nice hotel and lobby, helpful staff. Close location to the zoo and other activities. Food in the hotel restaurant was average but there's a lot of good restaurants and cafe's within walking distance. Free wifi. Hotel has A/C in the rooms HOWEVER we left it running our whole trip and it didn't get any cooler than around 75F. Room was small but that was expected. Overall somewhat average hotel, not a bad place to stay

The main problem I had with this hotel was that the room is old and not clean. There were hairs on the bed, making you wonder if they changed the sheets at all. And the toilet seat was dirty. Otherwise the location is convenient and price is reasonable.

Few minutes walk from the zoo and a train station.
Breakfast was good. Short walk to local public transport and also the zoo. Really easy to get to from the airport by train, no changes required and frequent trains. Did have to ask twice to get our curtains repaired by overall a pleasant, value for money experience

Comfortable and hospitable
Our hotel stay over all is comfortable. We had a restful stay in there after a day of visiting Berlin City. The breakfast was superb! The staff were friendly and hospitable to us which is a very good plus for Asians like us. I would recommend this place to friends!

On check in we had a bit of a problem with our room- we paid for one double bed, we get two singles. After I get down to the receptionist and ask why she said- I thought you two singles womens so I give you two single beds. ???? But next morning after second complaint we received nice, spacious room with one double bed on a first floor. Bar area very well decorated- Andy at the bar was serving great cocktails.

Now just an average hotel
Stayed in this hotel over the years and hoped it had not changed but it had. Look is same but check in was very matter of fact and not as welcoming as expected - no information as to breakfast times / restaurant etc ? As out flight had been delayed and we were late arriving we ate in hotel restaurant Franke which was excellent - staff and food were good. On leaving restaurant I asked reception if we could have an iron and they phoned housekeeping and ordered - after an hour I called reception which kept going to engaged - i even tried to call from my mobile with constantly engaged - same with house keeping so next morning I asked again at reception and was told they would check - when I went back the sale lade advised that they only had one iron and that they could not find it therefore it was unlikely they could provide ? on returning to our room the iron and ironing board was in our room - no explanation Wi Fi was very poor constantly cutting out Breakfast staff were good and friendly however the variation of options were not as before which is a great pity as it used to be first class. Scabbled egg was very rubbery and tasteless Sorry but very disappointing overall

Don’t stay here unless it’s all you can afford
Hotel is filthy and old, with rude staff on the counter and people loitering all throughout, including right outside of your room. We booked a superior room and once we got in realised there must have been a mistake as our room was a dump. Tiny, no where near the size listed on the Expedia website. The carpet in the room was heavily stained; it looked like someone had recently vomited down the side of our bed. There was not enough room for my partner and I to both open our suitcases. We called reception to ask about the room and see if another was available, the staff weee rude and useless. No help at all. I asked if theee were any upgrades available as we had booked for 4 nights. She said flat no, though when I checked the website and Expedia there were better rooms available right throughout our stay. We stayed one night and left. It was hot and noisy, unclean and we felt uncomfortable there. Even the breakfast wasn’t good. They would not refund me my 3 nights I was not prepared to stay and said I had to go through Expedia for my refund. What a waste of time and holiday ruiner.

Okay hotel, but not my level of comfort
First impression was carpets were very stained in the hallways. The room was clean and okay, but the air conditioning was weak, and at best, lowered it only to the mid to high 70s. Too hot to sleep with the duvet, and when I asked for a plain sheet, was told they have none. Also, no washcloths. The bathroom was tiny, and difficult to maneuver on the toilet, and a tub with only a half glass panel was tedious to shower using the hand shower provided.on the plus side, the fresh exotic lemonade blends in the lobby were wonderful.

A reservation is not guaranteed.
It was raining very hard the night we arrived at the hotel. To our surprise the gentleman at the customer front desk told us that all the room has been sold out because of the raining weather. They almost sent us to different hotel at 12 midnight.

Good location, quiet. Great breakfast.
Pretty good location close (5min walk) to major transportation hub (Zoologischer Garten). We had some stains on carpet and TV remote was missing (we were able to get one quickly from the reception). The A/C made more noise than cool air - it wasn't too loud, just not terribly helpful. Very little storage space in the room. Staff was nice. Our rate included breakfast - otherwise 18EUR - which had a decent selection (not sure I'd be happy to pay the full price however). Wifi, while it worked, was fine (morning before checkout it wasn't working at all).

Needs to refubished
I have stayed the Wyndam a few times , but I found that the hotels does need to be refurbished on the floors where the bedrooms are the carpets are dirty and stained , many of the rooms the doors are badly marked , my room the tape round the door was coming off , my coffee cup had not been washed up and was not moved , for the number of stars that the hotel has ,it is disappointing

Really great hotel access to everything
2 minute walk from the main hub station where all the sightseeing tours set off from. And transport in every possible direction to whatever you could possibly what to see. Just another minute up the road to the hope on-off bus tours. The hotel itself was excellent clean, helpfully staff. Bathrooms have both bath and shower. Bar/mini bar expensive but that's par for the course and there are ways to avoid it.

very central and friendly
The hotel was in a great location near bus and train station. Unfortunately when we stayed in the hotel we were told when booking that there was a spar there. When we had been sightseeing all day we were looking forward to having a spar, but when we asked where it was we were told it was closed due to refurbishment.we were so disappointed.

The hotel has a really nice lobby but the conditions of the rooms are far away from a 4star. Our rooms faced a very busy road hence the reason I needed to use earplugs at night to sleep. The bottle water at the bar costs 7 euros which is very expensive

Good location just a few minutes walk from Zoo station. Bus stop right outside the hotel. Good breakfast buffet, but can get crowded. Bathrooms need updating. Tea and coffee facilities in room, but limited clothes storage and no drawer space.

nice hotel close to historical placeces.
I stayed 3 days at the hotel it was good and location was great. I was very pleased with the staff , they all were very polite and friendly.Breakfast was also great. Unfortunately, the room was not enough clean especially floor. I recommend everyone to this hotel; excellent transport links very good location and lovely staff!

WYNDHAM Berlin Excelsior is five minutes walk away from Zoo station, so easy access. Reception very friendly. Room was on the small size, bed comfortable, blackout curtains keep the light out, bathroom small. There is a restaurant in the hotel, which I did not try because there are the excellent choices of Steinplatz/Savignyplatz round the corner.Everything would have been fine if the metal windows had been noise proof, they are not, so it was like sleeping in the middle of a crossroads. I downloaded a measuring app, it was consistently between 40 and 50 decibel, too much for my light sleep, so will ask if they have rooms towards the back next time. Otherwise comfortable and well located for where I had to go.

Convenient reasonably priced
Convenient, quiet and reasonably priced. But tired and in need of refurbishment. Hard to see how it retains 4 stars. A decent 3 star hotel though.

Good clean accommodation in Berlin Central
Very handy to public transport, restaurants and Berlin attractions. There were parking facilities at the hotel for 17euro/day in an area with very little parking available. The check in/out process was painless and efficient.

Recent stay at Wyndham Hotel in Berlin
the worst hotel experience I have had in years, do not stay at this hotel! My first room A/C did not work properly and the room was very hot! Staff moved me to another room and my card key never worked, they opened my door manually and asked me not to come out of the room for the rest of my stay as could not repair the card key to the door. The next room was also hot all night with little A/C. The shower head leaked in the next room they gave me. Basically, the hotel is substandard for the rating. I misplaced my cell phone in the business center and the phone was recovered and the front desk had the phone. When I asked for it, the clerk gave me my phone and then asked for a 10 euro finder's fee. I denied! The business center has no printer so you cannot check in with you airline and obtain a paper boarding pass. Breakfast was 19 euros for a very basic buffet so do not eat the food instead go out on the economy!

The technical fault regarding your key card was unfortunate and we have looked into the matter since, so that it cannot happen again. We understand that these issues made your stay more complicated than necessary and we hope you will accept our sincere apologies. On top of all that we were sorry to hear that you had misplaced your mobile, however thankfully this had a happy ending. We would like to add that our staff merely suggested a finder's fee to reward the person who retrieved your phone, as this is quite common in Germany. Good hotel near Zoo Garden Station
Ideally located a 5 minute walk from the central Zoo Garden station from which access to all Berlin is available. A nice bistro restaurant is next to the hotel. Rooms are a bit small but clean and everything works. Staff is very helpful and multilingual. Good value.

Sightseeing trip
Average hotel. Room was outdated and the finish in the bathroom was poor. The wifi was terrible. Good breakfast! In a good location near transport that brings you to the top tourist spots.

very good location, less than 10 mins walk from Zoo Garden Station and shops, restaurants etc. Slight problem with some of the lighting in the room, not all fixed quickly. Room decor good.
