Comfortable hotel with a beautiful beachPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: We loved the friendly, helpful service at the hotel and beautiful location and beach.
Cons: Refrigerators in the rooms would be helpful.
Location: The location was near the middle of the island and close to Hamilton. There was plenty of history to explore and also opportunities for water sports.
We had a wonderful experience at Coco Reef. The hotel grounds are beautiful overlooking the gorgeous beach, palm trees, and crystal clear water. There is also a very nice swimming pool. The hotel decor is a little bit dated, with no refrigerator or microwave in our room, but we were very comfortable. There was a soda machine and ice machine very near our room. It is not an ultra modern, trendy place but had charm. The rooms were clean and attractive with good air conditioning. The desk clerk Vladimir got us golf cart rides with Steven, to the main road and bus stop when needed or a taxi to restaurants. There is a grocery store nearby, too. Vladimir was also very helpful with making dinner reservations and booked us on a great tour of the island with Quinton, a very likable and knowledgeable tour guide. The bartender Darnell entertained us with interesting stories about life in Bermuda as well as introducing us to Ginger Beer, the Rum Swizzle and Dark and Stormy. The whole island is beautiful with lots of history and accessible by a good bus system, ferry system, and reasonably priced taxis. We ate at some excellent and scenic restaurants including Coconuts at the the Reefs, Ocean Club at the The Fairmont (Both had great sunsets) , and The original Swizzle Inn.

Great beach vacation.Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: Terrific beach, outstanding views, beautiful property at a reasonable price.
Cons: Only real issue is that the WiFi is not the best and can be very slow at times. Wooden steps down to the beach are in need of minor repairs.
Location: Great location, centrally located to everything. 10 minutes to Hamilton, 15 minutes to Horseshoe Bay Beach and steps away to Elbow Beach resort.
Excellent location on beautiful Elbow Beach. The resort shares the same beach as Elbow Beach Resort, which is just steps away, at a fraction of the price. If you are looking for a relaxing beachfront location this is a great place to stay. Staff is outstanding. All were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable with outstanding views. The bus stops are on South Road in front of hotel but it is a 5 minute walk from the road to the hotel on the beach. A grocery store on the corner provides you the opportunity to purchase snacks and drinks for your room. Centrally located to everything its just10 minutes to Hamilton. We rented a scooter which allowed us to travel the island at our own pace and time schedule. It is a great way of seeing the beauty of Bermuda.

Great Beach ViewsPosted Jul 9, 2014
Loved this beachy hotel and did not want to leave. If you are into swanky this place is not for you. Staff was wonderful and upgraded us to oceanfront after one came available mid stay. Seemed like every room had an ocean view though. We bought the breakfast plan and breakfast was huge and in beautiful oceanfront dining room. The waitresses were friendly and seemed to really want to take care of us. Yes, the furnishings were old but I just found them beachy as everything was very clean-just a little faded. I would definitely come back here again and thought it was a good value for Bermuda.

Too expensive for what is offered.Posted Jul 7, 2014
Cons: Pricing does not match the offering of service / accommodations / quality of food.
Location: Not much. need to travel by bus or taxi to get anywhere.
Beach was the best feature. hotel has aged - not all parts well kept. Food was overpriced for what it was- when compared to what is generally available in town . Staff is quite friendly. would not go here again.

Lovely hotel with private beachPosted Jul 5, 2014
Super spacious ground floor room with large bathroom which included a bath & shower with constant hot water. A sitting area with TV, fridge and coffee facilities Patio with table, 2 chairs and 1 sunbed. Views to died for and a short walk to private beach. Sea can get a bit rough for toddlers but the hotel pool is a great option for children at that time if required

Great beachfront hotelPosted Jul 1, 2014
Fantastic views from our balcony. The staff was extremely helpful . The breakfast was good and fresh. The hotel/beach was not crowded which was nice. We didn't have to fight our way to find a beach lounger. The decor was a bit out-dated. The portrait of a woman's face in our room was enormous, not my taste in art. Other than that we had the best time at coco reef!

Charming hotel on the waterPosted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Beautiful views from all public spaces and from all rooms. Very well maintained inside and out--clean too. Excellent staff.
Cons: Beach towels delivered daily to room rather than making guests go to lobby to pick up. Staff routinely at beach for drink and meal delivery.
We stayed 4 nights, 6/21 to 6/25/14. Coco Reef Hotel is charming and has the feel of old world elegance. Every room has a patio or balcony and all rooms have beach/ocean views. Rooms are a decent size with updated small bathrooms. The rooms are decorated with wicker furniture and matching floral bedspreads, drapes, lampshades and furniture cushions--think old world Lilly Pultizer from the 1960's in a delightful way. Our kingsize bed was comfortable and sheets changed daily. We had two issues upon check in as room safe was missing its lock and ceiling fan did not work--both were promptly fixed by the staff. The hotel staff is wonderful--from check-in to check-out--the owner and or manager is hiring nice friendly people---which we found very fitting in a hotel that is physically as darling as they come. Grounds are beautifully maintained--lots of flowering trees and bushes at this time of year. Beach and water are beautiful with plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas--and beach towels !

Pros: Views and Location
Cons: The rooms all need to be updated
Location: Right next to Elbow Beach hotel, easy walk to their dining experience if needed.
Enjoyed the Hotel, cannot beat the location. The hotel however is old and needs to be renovated, but the staff was extremely pleasent and helpful. The rooms all have views of the magnificant water, so a true plus for Bermuda and the rates were very reasonable for high season. Be aware food and drink in Bermuda is expensive, so do not be surprised at your bills. Recommend a quick stop at the local market, about a 10 minute walk for some basics.

Nice hotel, close to a spectacular beachPosted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Location, staff, food, artwork, landscaping.
Cons: Room condition.
Location: Easy access to beaches, short ride to Hamilton and other points of interest
The location is perfect - right on the corner of Elbow Beach. The staff and food were very good. The room was a little tired and in need of some repairs. Food was very good.
