Pros: The location of the property, and the beauty of the grounds and breathtaking views.
Cons: Everything. The Southampton Princess is a complete tear down. Hire an architect, demo and structural engineers and a general contractor.
Location: Horseshoe Bay is adjacent to the property.
The property is well maintained but very, very dated. The year is 2015, and not 1951. The property was decorated by a someone who has long since passed away and had very little taste. Staying at the Southampton Princess is like visiting your dead grandmother's home after she passed away. For example, the hotel's fitness Center was adequate when it was installed sometime around 1975. The gym needs to be expanded and the weight equipment needs to be replaced. The elevators are tired looking and quite depressing to travel in to your floor or to the lobby. The Hotel's lower level gift shop was pathetic. The shop lacked basic necessities, including toothpaste, mouthwash, and U.S. newspapers (e.g., "The Wall Street Journal", "The New York Times", etc.). The dreck that the shop was pedaling was not befitting of high end property. Now for the good news. The Hotel's staff was for the most part, friendly, professional and accommodating during our five day stay. With the exception of one meal at the Ocean Grill on our day of arrival, we enjoyed all of our meals at the Hotel during our stay.

The food choices in the hotel are very poor. The food is not tasty end the servers lack smile on their faces. Since the 17% is added on to the bill, they don't care much to provide the basic customer service. The front desk concierges are not knowledgable and very misleading. Not competent at all. If you have breakfast include in your room rate be prepared to have just bagels and muffins.

Pros: Room, view and amenities are wonderful. The grounds are lovely, and the staff are very gracious.
Cons: The ferry service boat is in need of a lot of TLC.
Location: The location is off the beaten track, an expensive cab ride from the airport or other towns. We took the public bus as often as we could.
We stayed at this hotel for a few nights after sailing to the island. It was a great place to recuperate, I only wish we could have stayed longer!

The hotel was beautifully kept, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the beach was stunning and every single meal at every hotel restaurant was fabulous! Can't wait to go back!!!!

Pros: beach was beautiful
Hotel has great amenities and absolutely beautiful beach. The hotel beach was directly next to Horseshoe beach and there was a lovely path that connected Horseshoe to other beaches including Chaplin, Jobson's Cove and Warwick. The food was a bit pricey, but all of the restaurants we ate in were very good. I am a fairly seasoned traveler and I have to say I have rarely found such impeccable service. The staff on the Gold floor were exceptional, and the extra cost to stay on this floor was well worth it and very convenient (breakfast, afternoon tea, hors d'oeuvres early evening, deserts late evening, beverages throughout the day).

Location: The city of Hamilton is charming. It has several parks, museum,, botanical gardens and of course shops and restaurants. Horse shoe beach's close by.
The Fairmont Southhampton Hotel is located on a golf course and close to a small but beautiful beach. There are seven restaurants on its grounds, a fitness center and spa, outdoor pool, indoor pool and a running trail also on the grounds. Casual restaurant/bars service both the beach and pool areas and two vans shuttle patrons anywhere on the grounds. You can walk to the beach, it's only a short distance, but it's hilly and you have to walk at times on the road with traffic. There are additional fees for wifi and the gym which are waived if you join the free Fairmont President's Club online before you go. You will still have to pay to use the spa, the indoor pool (except after 6:30 PM when it opens to all patrons) and the golf course. Because Fairmont also owns the Princess Hotel in Hamilton, the hotel runs a free ferry between Southhampton and Hamilton and it's a lovely ride, a nice way to get into the capital. Also, one of the island buses stops right at the entrance to the hotel driveway. The restaurants were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything in Bermuda is expensive, but anything you may want or do on the hotel grounds can be charged to the room, which makes the stay relaxing and painless. No need to carry your wallet with you. I would recommend this hotel. Just note,this is not the area of Bermuda that has wide pink beaches. If that's what you are looking for, go elsewhere.

Cons: Room service was late (5 pm) on Saturday
Location: Horseshoe beach is just next door ... ferry takes you to Hamilton. We also loved riding horses on Warwick beach.
We enjoyed our family vacation at the Fairmont Southampton. The private beach, athletic facilities (gym, golf course, and tennis courts) and rooms were all terrific. The restaurant options at or near the hotel were also superb. Finally, the ferry to Hamilton, proximity to beautiful beaches, and concierge service were also excellent. There were a few small misses: we had asked for two adjacent rooms, but were given two rooms on the same floor (about 12 rooms apart). The room service also was very late on one of the days that we were there ... we had to ask for the room to be made up at about 5 pm. However, these were small points ... overall this is a very good hotel and a great place to enjoy Bermuda.

We enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont very much. However, on my first afternoon I fell while walking around the outdoor pool. My prescription glasses broke, and I was bleeding profusely from a small gash. I was given first-aid, cleaned-up, and helped at the site. The people helpng at the site thought the hotel would help me get my eyeglasses fixed. One lens had fallen out but was not broken, and only needed to be reset. But at the front desk they only told us where to go in Hamilton to an optometrist. We didn't want to waste a day of vacation and waited to go home to have the glasses fixed.
