Great hotel, excellent staff.Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: Setting, staff.
Cons: rake the seaweed from the beach access.
Location: Horsehoe bay public beach better than the hotel and just 2 min away.
It is a character hotel that has been largely updated to its elegant past. The staff are outstanding, the setting beautiful. The food was very good with a variety of restaurants. I would return again.

Marvelous place to stayPosted Nov 18, 2014
Cons: Water had chlorine taste which we were not used to. We are spoiled by Peets coffee and found ourselves wishing for coffee like we have at home.
We loved the room, decor, bed, mini bar, etc. Food was very good in each Hotel restaurant we tried Nice Keurig coffee maker in room, so bring your own favorite pods and be sure to use bottled water for best taste. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. Lovely pool and beach with towels provided for you at both locations. We took suggested routes for daily walks with only one problem, the railway path seems to have been blocked by trees felled by the hurricane. Also went out to eat at Four Ways and Little Venice and recommend both. Large group of international rugby players were staying at the hotel but they only got noisy the early morning after the finals.

Overall, an excellent facility - golf beach diningPosted Nov 17, 2014
Cons: More frequent ferry schedule to Hamilton.
Location: On the southwest of the island, reasonably close to Dockyard and other beaches, like Horseshoe Bay.
There on business, so could not take part in all that the hotel had to offer. A great place to stay and relax with your significant other. Plenty to do on the property alone or kick back and do nothing at all.

all you could need in BermudaPosted Nov 10, 2014
Pros: the view!
Cons: communication - it was difficult to find out about the services/amenities, restaurants (which was open - it was off season). service at the beach.
Location: St George - a quaint historic town Dockyards - other direction - dolpin swimming
the Fairmont Southampton is a classy and wonderful hotel. The gorgeous private beach is a short private shuttle ride away (or a 10 minute walk). They also boast a lovely outdoor pool and hot tub, plus the indoor pool and outdoor spa hot-tubs are available to all hotel guests after 6:30PM. The restaurants were very expensive (but after all, this is Bermuda), but fabulous. I highly recommend the gastropub for a casual but creative dinner and Windows on the Sound for an amazing brunch any day - both are located within the main hotel.

Great relaxing holiday!Posted Nov 7, 2014
Pros: All staff were friendly and caring.
Cons: Turn down the air conditioning in the "Jasmine" restaurant and bar because even after buying sweaters we decided to look off site for casual dinning.
Location: Public transport was easily available to St Georges and the Dockyards as well as the ferry to Hamilton was a nice, fun time.
Wish the hotel was on the beach but the hotel shuttle drivers were fabulous and the hotel staff were very accommodating. Don't bother booking transport with a shared van as the price from the airport for a taxi is 45 dollars which you will pay in a shared van. When travelling with friends you can cut the cost and share the ride. Better deal! The hotel is like other Fairmont Hotels that I have stayed in. Old and well maintained, clean and charming. Be sure not to stay adjacent to the elevators ....including the service elevator as it might keep you awake at night. Hotel restaurants were very good but the " Waterlot " was over priced and served only mediocre food to the four of us. "Bocci" had great food and nice ambience and off site the "Gulfstream" was superb and very close! About a $7 taxi ride.

Outstanding customer service and great restaurantsPosted Nov 4, 2014
Pros: Great beach, super views from the rooms, good pool, pleasant walking/ hiking in the area, easy access to Hamilton by bus/taxi.
Cons: The lunch time food options at the pool and beach could be greatly imporoved.
Location: It's about 30 minutes by bus to Hamilton, about an hour to St.George. Neither has much to offer. Eat at the light house restaurant ... great meal ther
This is a laid back hotel with good facilities and exemplary customer service. The hotel rooms are well but not elaborately appointed. This was a working vacation retreat for me and I rely on the Internet and it was reliable throughout ... in addition, the weather was near perfect every day for the week of my stay, which the locals informed me was unusual for late October. Bermuda is not a great destination for dining out, the food in most restaurants tends to be disappointing ... however, the standard of cuisine in the three hotel restaurants open for dinner was excellent, which made up for the mediocre food available at poolside and on the beach. The hotel's private beach was seldom crowded and the water was crystal clear - great for swimming and snorkeling - the only downside of the beach was that a 50 foot dive boat was parked there each morning and remained for the entire day without moving, while its crew lolled around onshore. Not sure what its function was, maybe it was available for hire - but it definitely detracted from the otherwise pristine beach. The customer service attitude of all the staff made this a very pleasant experience.

Beautiful, but very expensive. Almost a rip-off.Posted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: Heavenly view, and setting. Free ferry to Hamilton city center.
Cons: The business center was absolutely hopeless. Printing anything cost $$$, and print quality was bad. I gave up. Hard to do any work needing printing
Location: Near to best beaches in Bermuda.
Wine prices were at least 4X retail, which was excessive. I constantly felt overcharged, even on an expensive island.

My stay at The FairmontPosted Oct 30, 2014
The accommodations were nice however the food was below standard for my taste. The prices were inflated, but overall I don't regret the visit due to the hospitality of the staff and the people of Bermuda.

Loved the Gold Floor Lounge!Posted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: Gold Floor Lounge.
Cons: Entertainment and Activities.
Really nice and clean place, friendly staff, great harbor view room on the Gold floor! Bermuda is a beautiful place with lots of history and safe to explore the island by bus or ferry. Bermudians are so nice and helpful, respectful and friendly. The beach is nice with rock formations and snorkeling is good! Although I should mention they need to keep the seaweed from building up on the beach. We also went kayaking, but the double ones are kinda small for two and have no backs. It would be nice if they had some form of entertainment or activities during the day or at night. In any case, we really enjoyed our visit at the Fairmont Southampton!
