“Great hotel but not convenient from train station.”
While this hotel was physically comfortable it proved to be difficult to find upon arrival from train station. I did not see clearly marked directions to get to this hotel and while we were told bus directions by someone other than hotel staff those directions were not helpful. Post somewhere on web page how to get to hotel using public transit. And, we stayed after significant snow so we had to drag luggage too far to get there!! Once there the hotel itself was comfortable and staff were lovely.
“Everything you'd want in a hotel.”
The hotel is situated in a lovely neighborhood, convenient to the Tram,or even walkable, to get downtown. The staff was very helpful with our questions. The Breakfast Room staff was pleasant and efficient; food was nicely presented and plentiful. The room was clean and comfortable. A very well-run hotel.
“Updated clean boutique hotel w/ quality restaurant”
This hotel was a long tram ride away from the main shopping/tourist section of town and train station but the tram stop was pretty nearby and it allowed us to see a different part of the city that we probably would not have wandered into otherwise. Clean, updated boutique style that let us check in early which was a plus on a hot day with morning train travel. Staff helpful on directions and public transit. Welcome iced tea and candies. Attached restaurant had great dinner food (yummy soup and pasta) and one of the better breakfast services. Room was on the small side but comfortable enough but the bar was open late and the noise travelled up as well as the smoke when window was open. No A/C so when we shut it it got pretty warm in the room.
“Nice hotel”
The Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was clean and nice. I do not have any negative to report.
“Budget Hotel in Bern”
I didn't get a non smoker room on the third floor at check in though i asked for it when i booked the room. I returned to the reception and asked if a non smoker room would be available. This was possible. So i had another room on the first floor (more noise from the street side) in the older part of the hotel building. The room was clean (but not as clean as it is standard in other hotels in Switzerland), small and with basic furniture. The room was badly soundproofed, so each of the three nights that i stayed in this hotel i was waked up persistently by loudly speaking people in the neighboring rooms. Free wireless internet connection in the restaurant/lobby - as announced in the hotel description - was not functional, and the prices for internet connection in the rooms is expensive. Taking into account of the prices for hotel rooms in Bern though i would recommend the hotel for the price/night that i've paid for (54 USD). But I would insist on a non smoker room in the newer part of the hotel on a higher floor.
