This was by far the most disappointing experience. We got to the hotel & just left our bags & immediately left to see the city. When we got back we had the time to check on the conditions of the room & noticed that it was dirty. Found some hair on the bathtub and pillows, the floor was sticky. We know this things can happen & thats why we approached the lady on the front desk. She offered to change rooms but told us they would make a downgrade bc they didnt have any rooms like the one we paid for available. We agreed to it but also asked about the fee difference between the rooms & they told us not to worry about it, that they’d find a solution. After the 3 nights, at checkout time we asked about it again. They brought the very unprofessional rude manager to tell us that they wouldn’t be refunding the fee difference because our new room was a “complete mess”. We are delicate & careful people & don’t like leaving our stuff all over the room, so we always leave our stuff well packed and locked. We let them know this couldnt be our case. Even if it was, it is their job to clean the room bc they charge you a fee for that & has nothing to do with receiving as a new guest a clean room. We also let him know about this. And this is when he started talking to us in an aggressive way, telling us to “not behave like animals” referring to how we were complaining & demanding an actual solution. Also called us “sensitive people from Spain” when we’re not even Spanish. FULL REVIEW ON GOOGLE

The Hotel has no room service. The cleaning lady entered in my room without knocking. The restaurant does not open every day. The breakfast is not on self-service mode. They tried to charge parking fees on me. I had no car. They tried to make me pay the entire fee twice (check-in and check-out) and it was already paid. Quality of the air inside the room is horrible, creating lot of caugh. It is definitely not a 4 stars.

Room service claimed it was 24 hrs and it was not. The food was also a tv dinner that was warmed in the microwave for 8 mins i know because it said it on the box. Tv dinner was 15 dollars . Also they cut all current/light at 12am the first night I was there. Breakfast was below aaverage. Besides this staff was really nice.

The stay was really nice and the room at the Hotel was very comfortable, and the fact the we could checkout around 14:00pm was a life saver! So the overall stay was excellent.

Hotel told us that we could only stay for one night even though we had booked and paid for 2 nights 2 months in advance , after exspensive calls to hotels.com the hotel finally agreed that it was their mistake ! Very stressful as My daughter was a teenager in a foreign country!

Avoid this hotel!
The service is absolutely awful. The first night I had to wait 20 minutes for someone to show up at the reception for my check-in. By the time I made it to the room, the kitchen was closed and I could not get some warm food after my long trip! They try to rip you off and charge you for the car park whether you leave your car there for an hour or the whole night, it's the same price. The person who told me that is the most unpleasant man I have ever met in my life! The customer service is awful, they won't do much to make it an enjoyable stay. There was a weird smell in the corridor, and the room was not very clean either. I will never ever go back to that hotel!

hotel was great. booked a junior suite. wonderful room comes with Kitchenette and good sitting and dining area. breakfast was good. coffee was superb. front desk staff were all very good at customer service. great experience.

The hotel is tired inside and could do with a refurb ! All the staff were very nice and helpful but the pictures of the hotel are a bit false and the reality is not so nice !

Good stay but ....questions
At first I was offered a room in which the bed was located against a wall - other side of which had the staff lift/lift door. I would have not had any sleep if the staff had started using it. When this was declined another room was offered. I was surprised to see this room being used as a mini suite!

Tired hotel, which has seen little investment in years. Not a 4 star hotel in my opinion. Lack of effective air conditioning, thin towels and poor service do not warrant 4 star rating

Great Location and Breakfast
Overall we had great stays in Mercure Biel. Breakfast was great, good spread of bread and pastries. They even have hot chocolate. Location wise also very convenient, less than 10 min walk to main station. 5 min walk to alstatd and supermarket and shopping streets around the corner.

Its all about customer service, and the staff at the Mercure Plaza in Biel know this perfectly. We arrived late to be confronted with at first no reservation being found in our name, and then being told they didnt have the room type we booked. Apologies followed with a clear statement that they would find a way to make it right, which they did within 30mins phoning us all was as reserved and booked. Well done!

I needed to stay in a hotel in Biel/Bienne for work purposes, and anyone who has stayed in Biel will know that the choice of hotels is limited. Ideally I wanted somewhere with gym/fitness facilities, and some healthy eating options. I must admit I wasn't sure what to expect from this hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. They describe their gym facilities as 'small' which is accurate, and enough for my needs and there are some healthy choices on the menu. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and I had a hassle free stay.
