Lovely property with excellent views in a great location. Restaurant was closed while were there which was a bit of a disappointment but I would definitely come back and recommend it.

Beautiful hotel with great views of the mountains! The hotel was so cozy and clean. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating. It was very rainy during our stay so we ate dinner at the hotel restaurant twice to avoid the bad weather. On one of those nights we lost track of time and went into the restaurant after they had closed. Instead of turning us away, the staff was nice enough to offer us pizzas and even brought them to our room for us. Highly recommend this hotel for your visit to Grindelwald!

The view was amazing. It snowed nonstop from the afternoons on the day we arrived. Just amazing experience and we had a balcony. They should have smokers on different levels as we couldn’t enjoy the balcony as much as the next door smoked non stop out there. They should have transportation from train stop to hotel. It cost $15 Franc for a 1 min taxi ride uphill to hotel. He called the hotel for a ride and they said no, however it snowed and we were given a ride when departing from them (snowing). The wait help for dinner was rude and not friendly. The breakfast was great and the wait help was awesome. I would definitely stay again. A few issues do not ruin a wonderful experience otherwise.

Great little hotel very close to central Grindelwald. Be prepared to climb the hill, though! Nice breakfast as well.

Such a cozy and warm place. The views are amazing. It was a little dusty when we got there, and the dinning options are good. I would recommend staying here! They have ski storage and transportation to the train station which is a plus. The staff are very nice and friendly!! Very much enjoyed my stayed here.

The view from your balcony of the mountains is magnificent. Great service with pick up and drop off from and to the train station. Lovely, helpful, and friendly staff all around. The only downfall is walking back up the hill at the end of the day, but it’s a small price to pay for a pretty awesome view. Highly recommended.

It was the cutest little chalet style hotel in a good location. If I ever went back to Grindlewald I would want to stay there.

Great Hotel
The place is very clean with a very nice view. Away from the noisy street. Except that it was hard to go to the hotel with heavy luggages because of the steep road. Pick up from the station should be requested. But it is all good. Would definitely go back to this hotel.

We loved our stay! The staff was great and the breakfast was great every morning and included in the price. We loved how it felt like we were in an authentic Swiss chalet. Would come back again and again.

Close from the train station and 10 min walk to First bahn. The hotel has a grear view of North Face and the towns on its hills. Well managed and clean, the breakfast and dinner are excellent, especially services by Nicky. Laundry is available for a fee, but not performing well (the dryer is eco friendly). Overall, I would stay at this hotel again (in a room above the first floor next time though).

Such a lovely location in Grindelwald, being only a short walk to the town, Breakfast provided was a great selection, including local cheeses and dairy options, which were delicious. However, the view from the balcony was the best part of the stay. Absolutely spectacular!!

Perfect place to stay
My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. The front desk was friendly and the room was comfortable. We had a small patio with a beautiful view of the mountains. The breakfast had a variety of options to choose and the coffee was wonderful. We parked our car right at the hotel.

The hosts were exceptional. They answered all of our questions and guided us to what we needed for a hike and for shopping. The washing maching wasn't working properly so they did it for us, they even provided a drying rack.

Absolutely the most stunning place we’ve ever visited with the most amazing view!! Such a perfect location, only 10min walk from the First cable car, and 3 min walk to Grindelwald train station. Definitely, consider the altitude and the walking uphill to the hotel. From Main Street you have a 200-300 meter walk uphill. Don’t let that hinder your decision, because the staff and rooms make everything perfect!! Just wait until you see the view!!

Beautiful location up on a steep hill and very hard to find from the Main Street. Hotel sign should be installed near the train station. There is no street sign to indicate which street to take. Disappointed that website did not indicated that shuttle service is available as requested from the train station. Full breakfast included cold cuts, cheese variety, breads, eggs (request only), coffee and teas. Instant noodles were also available

I would highly recommend Hotel Alpenhof to just about anyone. It's comfortable, lovely, so close to the Grindelwald train station, and tended to by fantastic owners and staff. The views are stunning, the food never disappointed, and it's a great place to take a family. We couldn't hear any noise from the other guest rooms. It was sometimes uncomfortably warm in the building, but you can control the heat in your room. We have zero regrets. (It's truly only if you have limited mobility and intend to go anywhere on foot that I'd suggest reconsidering - the hill it's on is extremely steep.)

This hotel is on a relatively steep slope for those who are not used to climbing up a lot. Even worse if you do not drive and need to pull up your luggage. At first I thought we would have a nice view of Grindelwald but our room was at level 1 and the view was blocked. The balcony greenery is overgrown with weed and there were no maintenance done. Security concern such as anyone could walk to your hotel room just by crossing the shared balcony space. Breakfast was ok. Staffs are very friendly and they try to assist you with your question. It is very close to the train station. If you are walking to First cable car, it would take 5-10mins.
