Wonderful mountain experiencePosted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: The Kirchbuehl is an excellent hotel, superbly located amidst the Grindelwald mountains with great views, facilities, service.
Cons: Wine particularly in the hotel restaurant was very expensive.
Location: Walk amidst the mountains.

great location in Grindelwald. Beautiful views.Posted Aug 8, 2013
Pros: beautiful views. Good location. Good food.
Cons: food too expensive - but then again everything in Switzerland was expensive.
Location: easy walk down into town - to shop, eat, take gondola ride up mountain, or to bus stop - to go to glacier or gorge. Harder walk back up to hotel.
We came for 3 nights in the summer as part of a 7 week European vacation. Location was beautiful. Convenient walk into town but necessary to take the bus back to hotel because of uphill climb. Even a bit of an uphill hike from bus stop. Bus pass included in hotel stay. Food in hotel was great (we ate there two of three nights) but VERY expensive (although all of Grindelwald had expensive food). Breakfast, included in fare, was good.

The only place to stay in GrindelwaldPosted Jul 10, 2013
We are experienced travelers and can recognize a good thing when we see it. Beautiful room, overlooking the mountains, friendly staff who wanted to please and wonderful food. With the exception of one night we ate every night at the hotel. It was not inexpensive but you felt that it was worth every penny!! Can't wait to go back.

Fantastic stay in a beautiful hotelPosted Dec 26, 2012
Excellent hotel in a very beautiful part of Grindlewald - close enough to public transport, yet few minutes away from the crowds of the town center. The hotel is very tastefully decorated and the breakfast (complimentary with our room) was fantastic with a wide range of hot and cold options on offer (Several cheeses, Alpine butter, fresh homemade bread, etc. were very good). Several types of complimentary afternoon cakes were served which were also very excellent. Only downside was that there was no complimentary internet in our studio (We had booked a studio which was outside the hotel main building - only the main building has free wireless internet. An internet dongle was available from the reception to rent for a small fee though.)

Exceded Our ExpectionsPosted Jun 11, 2008
This is a first rate hotel in almost every respect. Only the food and service at the hotel restaurant, while good, is not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Guests may wish to consider eating elsewhere.
