Clean but basicPosted Mar 23, 2014
Rooms weren't bad, clean but basic. hotel overall was dated. Beds were very uncomfortable and linens and towels were cheap.

Incredible little hotelPosted Mar 16, 2014
Amazing little hotel that sits in the valley with incredible views. The staff was unbelievable, the views were stunning and I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. We are glad we chose to stay here instead of Wengen or Interlaken.

Just an amazing stayPosted Feb 25, 2014
This hotel was just the best we could have asked for, the stuff was super nice and from the bottom of their heart. They truly want you to enjoy your experience there. It was my first time visiting Switzerland and I must say that we locked out. I am definitely going back

Great StayPosted Oct 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
The location of this hotel is very convenient as it is located right next to the train station and the cable car. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I arrived at the hotel before the official check-in time and my room wasn't ready. The staff offered me to keep my luggage so that I could explore the area in the meanwhile and I took their offer. They don't have an elevator in this hotel and my room was on 4th floor. The staff was so nice that they hauled my luggage to the 4th floor and refused to take any tip. The room rate included breakfast which was very good. They also have a restaurant on site which serves very good food at very reasonable price. Overall, I had a great stay at this hotel and will definitely stay here again.

I have stayed in Lauterbrennen previously. This was my first stay at this hotel. The hotel is located close to the train station but is not bothered by any train noise. Our room had a balcony which opened up to the valley across and we woke up every morning with a spectacular view. Location was great and convenient for access to train and gondola rides. The room was clean and spacious. You may want to bring your own soap/shampoo if you don't choose to use the packet that they provide. The breakfast which was included was typical of a European hotel breakfast. Meats, bread, juice, coffee, etc. The front desk staff was helpful.

Convenient and pleasantPosted Oct 10, 2013
Hotel Silberhorn is just 'up' from the train station - given that 'up' means straight up several flights' worth of steps - but that's normal for the Alps, after all. No elevator in the hotel - its one drawback - though one is planned, according to staff. Staff is very pleasant and sensitive to travelers' needs; the restaurant and breakfast rooms are very nice and the food very good - lots of options at the restaurant. We were given a great view from our balcony - Staubbach Falls in full view from our room, along with the vista down the valley of the best Alps in the area. Great value and great option for a stay in the region - we spent 3 nights there and didn't even tire of the same breakfast!

Alpine VallyPosted Oct 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stay at this hotel for an immersion in Alpine splendor! The location is great -- just steps away from the train and cable car that links you to everything in the region. The breakfast was the best of any hotel included during our stay in Switzerland. The town of Lauterbrunnen is charming and the hotel itself is lovely with amazing views. The full dinner menu is also top-notch. The only negative to this hotel is the lack of elevators/lifts. For elderly not able to easily climb stairs this is a problem.

Great location! Great hotelPosted Oct 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
I had a great two night stay at the Silberhorn. My room was comfortable with a stunning view of the valley, village and the Alps! Location wise it is situated right across from the Lauterbrunnen train station, which is super convenient. The cost of breakfast is included in the room rate and there were substantial breakfast options-which was nice! I had to catch a early morning train, so the kitchen staff packed me a little lunch pack and left it in the lobby for pickup. This kind gesture was much appreciated. All in all, I had a great stay. I will say one thing though... if possible, call the hotel directly to make reservations, especially if you just need a single bed or a smaller room!! Besides booking directly with them gives you the flexibility to change options as opposed to getting locked in a fixed price via the website!!

Disappointing Room in Great LocationPosted Sep 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
We booked two identical room types for the same price and they were immensely unequal. One room had spectacular views while the other had a view of the parking lot. Unfortunately, there were not any other rooms available. Once we left the room, the location was great for getting to local sights. Train is right across the street and gondola was also next to the hotel. Recommend calling ahead or checking in early to get better rooms. The breakfast was very good, but if you have any special dietary needs you should call ahead to have food available.

greatPosted Sep 24, 2013
great hotel. but probably for older people though (weirdly formal and inappropriate decor for an alpine lodge). the shower was very very small and the shower curtain was just in the way of any kind of effective showering. beyond that this is a good hotel in a very nice spot in Lauterbrunnen
