“Nice Hotel near town center, some rooms with great vies”

Hotel Splendid offers clean, large rooms (at least as a double). the staff is very friendly and helpful. breakfast was not grand, but was adequate. Some of the rooms have great views of the mountains and park, I asked for a nice view as a request and was very happy. I have stayed in Interlaken a lot and thought the hotel was a good value.

“Wonderful experience”

I was impressed with this hotel's flexibility. I had reserved rooms for one night for my sister and me and mistakenly made the reservations for a day earlier than I meant to. Upon arriving, the hotel desk clerk told me that we had been considered "no-shows" for the previous evening. But then he provided us rooms anyway, and did not charge us even though the rooms had been empty but paid for the previous night. I would go back to this hotel without hesitation if I went back to Interlaken.

“Great hotel”

My husband and I stayed at the hotel Splendid May 6-9, 2011. I really can't say anything but good things. It is a moderately priced hotel. The staff was always helpful and friendly. We ate breakfast each morning at their buffet and it had the usual cereals, breads, fruits, coffee and juices, yogurt. You could fry an egg or boil it if you like. The location is great for walking around and seeing all the shops, restaurants and sights. It is a short walk from the West train station and within walking distance from the East station. If your room faces the street you have a beautiful view of the mountains. The street noise really was not a problem for us. The room was clean and comfortable and the pillows were thick and fluffy. We would stay there again without hesitation.

“Wonderful time”

This little family hotel provided everything we could have asked. All the people we dealt with spoke perfect English, knew the answers to all our questions, and made us feel like we belonged. Its location at a walkable distance from both train stations is a plus, too.

“A Really Nice Place to be in Interlaken Switzerland”

I had a long weekend ( Labor Day holiday ) occur while travelling through Euorpe for work. I had been working in Basel Switzerland for a week, but was done there and had three days to just hang out. After comparing costs, I chose to save a few bucks and hang out in a pretty place all at once. I went to Interlaken via a short train trip, and was pleasantly surprised at how cool this little town and surrounding area was. I could walk just about anywhere in town, ride the buses for free, and rent low costs vehicles while there to really see the sights. The views are superb and the number of attractions made this a fun little side trip. The Hotel Splendid was very nice, although a little lived in, but hey, that is part of the charm. The staff was great and so was the prices. Buddy's bar downstairs was also the life of down town Interlaken, and the crew there was friendly in more than four languages. If you need to cool your heels in the Switzerland area, I highly recommend this place. I plan to go back really soon for a longer period.

“Good Interlaken Hotel”

Decent room w/ balcony, good location, free breakfast, and free wifi. Is upstairs from a bar and a busy street, so noise and smoke could be a problem if windows were left open. No complaints otherwise.

I highly recommend Hotel Splendid for anyone looking for accommodation in Interlaken. I felt i get exceptionally good value for the rate we paid. Would definitely return to this hotel if we go back to this region.

“Splendid For Sure!”

Hotel Splendid was an excellent stay! The location was ideal; we were able to watch all of the paragliders from our hotel room balcony (we ended up paragliding ourselves)! Andrea was extremely helpful at the front desk! Hotel Splendid is truly is a family run business and they do an excellent job! Breakfast was fantastic! Only downfall, since it was summer when we were there, air conditioning was greatly missed; but with fans were available! If and when we make it back to Interlaken, we will definitely stay at Hotel Splendid!

“Basic but clean”

Not a splendid hotel, despite its name. Bathroom tiny, even by European standards. The shower stall was a challenge to move around in. No air-conditioning, but a fan was provided. Breakfast was basic (canned fruit!) and do-it-yourself eggs which turned out to be disastrous (hot water for boiling eggs not hot enough). Residents seemed to be mostly retired English couples. Very friendly and helpful hotel desk staff.
