“Very good 3 star hotel in central location”

Very good hotel. Rooms very clean and spacious. Hotel parking about five minutes away, access difficult bit parking secure. Excellent hotel for the 3 star rating, staff very friendly and helpful. Bar a bit gloomy but would not stop me from staying here again. Overall very good hotel with a fantastic central location.

“Excellent Service and Beautiful View of the Jungfrau!”

Very nice hotel staff and very clean rooms. Breakfast was very good and efficient. Location of hotel is perfect for both Interlaken Ost and Interlaken West stations and our room had a beautiful view of the Jungfrau. We would definitely go back there.

“Excellent Stay”

The hotel is in a strategic location (5 minutes walk) from Interlaken Ost train station. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We were given free bus passes for the duration of our stay in the hotel.

“Pretty good place to stay”

Good location--on the main road so easy to find, near both train stations (a few minutes walk from Interlaken West and about 10 minutes walk to Interlaken Ost). Friendly staff gave us information and Interlaken visitor card (enable you to local transportation and discounts). Pretty good breakfast with selection of breads, ham, cheese, cereal, etc. They also have raw eggs that you can cook yourself (they have boiling water and frying pans). Room is not big but spacious enough for the luggages. Nice wood (perhaps laminated) floor. The only negative is that it can be noisy sometime as there is a bar downstair. Windows does a decent job keeping most noises out but closing the windows makes the room too warm and there is no fan in the room. It would be nice if they had one. Overall, it's a pretty good place to stay in Interlaken.

“Good Interlaken Hotel”

Decent room w/ balcony, good location, free breakfast, and free wifi. Is upstairs from a bar and a busy street, so noise and smoke could be a problem if windows were left open. No complaints otherwise.

Good choice for the families, lots of attractions nearby. We spend only one night but we really liked the place. I recommend this place without any reservation. Considering the price a very good choice.

“A Splendid place to stay in Interlaken, Switzerland”

The Hotel Splendid is conveniently located almost midway between the two rail stations in Interlaken. It is a comfortable walk to either station and easily accessible to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Our room had a view of the Jungfrau and, from our balcony, we were able to watch the paragliders land in the grassy area just across the street. The restaurant served ample breakfast each morning and the dinner that we ate there was very satisfying. This is a "hands on" family run business, so everything is maintained in a highly favorable manner. The owner provided quick answers to our travel questions and the staff were all very pleasant and conversant in English as well as French and German. The only "negative" was the proximity of the included free parking. The shared private lot is roughly a block distant and parking can be limited/tight. All in all though, a good value and a great experience.

Hotel is right on the main street in Interlaken with fabulous views from the front rooms. Very helpful staff who helped a lot with our stay, and free handy(ish) parking. Close to some fantastic scenery...

“A Really Nice Place to be in Interlaken Switzerland”

I had a long weekend ( Labor Day holiday ) occur while travelling through Euorpe for work. I had been working in Basel Switzerland for a week, but was done there and had three days to just hang out. After comparing costs, I chose to save a few bucks and hang out in a pretty place all at once. I went to Interlaken via a short train trip, and was pleasantly surprised at how cool this little town and surrounding area was. I could walk just about anywhere in town, ride the buses for free, and rent low costs vehicles while there to really see the sights. The views are superb and the number of attractions made this a fun little side trip. The Hotel Splendid was very nice, although a little lived in, but hey, that is part of the charm. The staff was great and so was the prices. Buddy's bar downstairs was also the life of down town Interlaken, and the crew there was friendly in more than four languages. If you need to cool your heels in the Switzerland area, I highly recommend this place. I plan to go back really soon for a longer period.
