“Pleasant Hotel”

Everything is pleasant here. Older crowd staying there. Nice breakfast. Expensive internet fees.

“Stella Swiss Q Interlaken like a hot house”

When searching for a hotel at Interlaken some months before our visit it became apparent that it is (much) more costly to require a room with an en suite. We settled on the Stella, and were satisfied except for one thing - the lack of room ventilation. And that is serious. At night we lowered the shutter and propped the door to the balcony open. But there are only small holes in the shutter, and with little wind there was no cooling. I found sleeping difficult. Also, the en suite became like a sauna after a shower as it appeared that it did not have separate ventilation. The breakfast is very good quality, and we used the hotel pool regularly. But the price for an unventilated room was far too high (it was the most expensive of our trip through Switzerland).

“Everything was OK except that there was no airconditioning”

We stayed for two nights at end of June 2009 and found out after check-in that the room did not have air conditioning. We could not believe that a hotel rated 4 star did not have AC, reception advised that none of their rooms had AC, but to make things worse, we were offered a pedestal fan @ a charge of SFr5 per night! Since it was only a short stay, we decided to put up with it as we planned to spend most of the days outdoors visiting the attractions. However, the nights were not comfortable. We also asked for tea/coffee facilities for the room and they said they were not allowed to do that, we had to go to the reastuarant. In all the other hotels we stayed in Switzerland, they all had AC and were happy to provide tea/coffee facilities for the rooms where not already provided. The only thing that made up for this was that the room and hotel in all other aspects was good, the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Also, most of the other guests we came across in the restuarant were older couples, so perhaps we just made a wrong choice.

“Not impressed whatsover”

Considering they call themselves a 4 star, Its a shame we had to fry our own eggs in the morning! If you are going with children, be prepared for the staff to tell you to keep the noise down. There is no airconditioning whatsoever, so take that into account if you decide to go in the summer time.... the sticky nights are uncomfortable and unforgiving. Overall, we were all disappointed and could not wait to check out the next morning.
