“Great staff--safe, clean and convenient location.”
Great stay--staff was terrific, they allowed us to check in early, were very helpful with tips and quick with service. Hotel is a little dated, but clean and comfortable--and despite being very busy with school groups, families, business travelers and us, there was little noise after hours and little or no waiting during breakfast or for the shuttles. Our double room was a little on the snug side, but they made great use of space so we never felt crowded. Small bathroom, but smartly designed shower was HUGE. Note all the freebies: Parking, Refrigerator, Wireless, Wall Street Journal, Shuttle to Metro + surrounding areas, Breakfast. Breakfast was basic, but plentiful--make your own waffles (maybe they could add another waffle maker as it was VERY popular!), HUGE sausage links, baked goods, bread and bagels for toasting, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, coffee, milk, hot chocolate--nothing fancy, but more than enough to get you on the road to work or sightseeing. The cheerful attendant kept everything replenished quickly, without skipping a beat so no one went hungry. They share the property with a Crowne Plaza right across the parking; it was a great place to catch a relaxing drink at the end of the day. Shady Grove (red line) station 15 minutes away (you can take the free shuttle or park your car all day--free on weekends/holidays and about $5 M-F). Bottom line: Great place for value, staff and convenience. Save your money for sightseeing in DC!
