Pleasant Stay

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Hotel was quiet and comfty
Cons: We had a handicap accessible room - which was fine - but the bathroom stall needs to have a place to put shower soap, shampoo, etc.
Location: Salem Mass and the Wharf are nearby.
We stayed here for Halloween weekend because there are only two major hotels in Salem and they were already booked up way in advance. Wylie Inn is about a 10 min drive into Salem. The only interesting part was driving to the place - as its not on a main street. You'll be wondering if you've gotten lost - but with proper directions - you will find it.

Nice hotel

Posted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: The room was clean. A short drive to Salem.
Beautiful grounds. The hotel staff was nice but not overly friendly. Our room was pretty small as I read that they are former dorm rooms from the college. But nonetheless, it was very clean and comfortable. There was no free breakfast but they had an area you could buy bagels, oatmeal, cereal, etc or you could also order hot breakfast from a limited menu. I had an egg and sausage croissant which was ok. My husband had the waffles which were very good.

Thank you for letting us know about your stay at the Wylie Inn and Conference Center at Endicott College. Our location, situated on campus with our own private piece of the Cape Cod National Seashore is a great place to stay when visiting historic Salem and other Boston sights, and we’re glad it was a highlight of your stay. We do regret that the service you received at our on site eatery did not meet your expectations, and we will review your comments with our staff. We would love to have you back again in the future.

Close to Endicott College.

Surly front desk staff for check in and check out so it was not specific to individuals but more the feel. They wanted to charge $50 to change from one queen bed to two doubles. The next day at a Marriott the same request was filled with a smile and no charge. Very generic breakfast and public spaces.

A 3-star hotel sliding down to 2-star

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: The small cafe had a nice simple selection of food.
Cons: Cleanliness, paint, staffing attitudes!
Location: The location is a bit out of the way for "tourist activities" but the area is nice and peaceful.
The hotel staff was among the most unfriendly I have encountered in a while. I think this must be a reflection of the management. Workers who are not treated well usually reflect that in their dealing with the public. The hall way and elevator carpets are dirty and there are nicks in the paint everywhere that show the lack of care and upkeep. The bed and pillows were unbearable! They all felt like they were made out of lead. Although the room was basically clean, no one cleaned our room at all on the second day...towels were replaced but nothing else was done! Very disturbing. This property has the potential to be a very nice place if only someone cared.

While we’re glad that you enjoyed dining with us and our tranquil location, we’re disheartened to discover that your experience was not everything it should have been. Last year we completed a renovation that included new paint, carpeting, and window treatments, but we can appreciate your perspective. Our guests typically rave about our beds and service, and we are saddened that we missed the mark when it came to your stay. Your comments have been shared with our housekeeping department to ensure our guests to come receive everything they need. We hope that you will give us a chance to regain your trust and we thank you for addressing your concerns with us.

Beverly overnight

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: /quality of the rooms, overall ambience
Cons: Tightness of the mattress cover. It wasn't.
Location: It's along the Mass. coast north of Boston, about 15 min drive south of Glouscester.
Pleasantly surprised by this inn and conference center. Reception was efficient. Room was of a high quality in terms of size and amenities. Café off lobby was a pleasant surprise. Had a light dinner and breakfast there and prices were reasonable. Has a small beach a short walk behind the complex.

A very pleasant surprise

A great find. Quick and informative check in. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Our room had a refrigerator and microwave. There is a restaurant on site but you would be better off driving a few minutes into town for breakfast or dinner. This hotel is on a college campus. We would definitely stay here again.
