Beykoy isn't the only place in this popular region worth seeing; visitors with plenty of time can also drive a little further out to experience the magic of the surrounding countryside, communities and cultural attractions.
Often, a region's true personality can be found in simmering pots and pans. Ağzı açık (mince pastry) and göce köftesi (meatballs with garlic yogurt) are both local dishes sure to imbue visitors' with the true flavours of Afyon. To finish your local dining experience, be sure to order haşhaşlı çörek (poppyseed pastry).
A key to unlocking the culture is learning the local language, so while vacationing in Turkey why not practice some practical Turkish expressions and sentences. One example of a hand local sentence is "Benimle dans eder misiniz?" (Would you like to dance with me?). "Where are you from?" is also useful, so learn to pronounce "Nerelisin?"
Much of Beykoy acknowledges Republic Day on the 29th of October, so be prepared for changes to business hours and transport schedules.
When it's time to leave, say a fond Hoşçakal (farewell) to the people you've met and the locations you've been.
