Bus Stop right outside the Hotel, tram Stop just across the road, both getting you within mins to the old town. Hotel has it's own carpark.
We used their Kegelbahn (Bowling Alley German Style) and didn't even have to book it. The price was only 6.00 Euros an hour. Breakfast (8.00 Euro pppd) was brilliant, typical German Style, but also catering for British taste buds (Bacon sausages and scrambled eggs). Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay, we were made to feel at home and welcome. Free WiFi.

We stayed at this hotel on 2 nights on a return drive from UK to Poland at the end of March 08. It is a very clean hotel. The staff at Reception are very friendly, efficient and have good basic English. The room was clean and well serviced. It had a TV but only German, Italian and French stations. The breakfast was typical continental but a good selection of hams and cheeses. Again the staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel does not have a bar/restaurant but there is one adjacent. It is expensive and the menu is very limited. Some of the staff are helpful, others are not.

We had never been to this area in Germany before so really did not know what to expect. This hotel was perfect, we needed to get away from all the hussle and bussle of the town from where we live. This hotel is situated in a fantastic wood and all around you is the wild life, you can completely forget all your problems and just take in all the scenery. It is also very easy to get to town, just down a pathway and and you can be in the center within 20 minutes, plenty of shops, restaurants and bars wonderfull to just take time out and relax. The hotel is a very warm and welcoming place and the staff are very helpful to make your stay enjoyable.

"Friendly hotel,conveniently located near Bielefeld"
I stayed at the Oldentruper Hof hotel for 4 nights during a business trip. One minor plus was the large carpark with no charge for parking (the hotels that I looked at in the middle of Bielefeld either had no parking facilities or charged for the facility). The hotel is comfortable and the staff are incredibly helpful (including being fluent in English!) The room was spacious and clean, but not luxurious - a typical Best Western room. There are no shops or restaurants nearby, so I dined in the restaurant every night. The food was excellent and the staff were quietly attentive. It was interesting to note that there were several tables occupied by individuals by themselves - presumably lots of business people. In the cellar, there is a small swimming pool and sauna. One word of warning for British travellers - the sauna is a typical German sauna - no swimming costumes. The sight of the totally naked 60 year old German lady striding towards the sauna is something that will stay in my mind for a long, long time!
