Bifroest Vacations

Visit Bifroest, and you'll soon understand why this part of Iceland is such a favorite with locals and visitors alike.

Bifroest is located approximately 45 miles (72 kilometers) from Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland, and about 75 miles (121 kilometers) from Hella.

Be sure to visit the Grabrok while you are in the area.

Consider using Bifroest as a base for further adventures. This sought-after tourism region possesses plenty of wonderful attractions. Reykholt, lies roughly 10 miles (16 kilometers) to the northwest. Head there to check out the Hraunfossar and Barnafoss.

Around 45 miles (72 kilometers) to the south of Bifroest is Reykjavik, a regional center which is home to Arbaejarlaug, Asgrimur Jonsson Collection and Grafarholt Golf Course. Reykjavik Harbour, Parliament House and Reykjavik Free Church are just a handful of the other interesting visitor attractions on offer here.

If you believe the perfect holiday is maxing-out your heart rate in the great outdoors, then sign up for one of the caving and hiking excursions Iceland has to offer.

Why not treat your tastebuds for a tour of Iceland's eating establishments. Two ingredients you'll find in many Iceland recipe books are lamb and root vegetables such as rutabagas and carrots. Of course, no journey through Iceland would be finished without getting a taste of saltfiskur (dried and salted fish) or harofiskur (jerky type fish). Iceland is the perfect place to gorge on delicious mondlukaka (almond cake).

At the finish of your time in Iceland, remember that you can always return. As you may have heard the locals say: A guest once, a friend from now on.
