Weekend Stay

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: Location, Food
Cons: Staff to be more friendly.
Location: Main Boulevard shopping, bars. Skiing. Botana restaurant
I will not gonna write an essay here. - Location was amazing, close to the main blvd. You can walk to the main market for shopping etc - Close to the skiing summits - Mansion was beautiful, though we were put into a carriage house. - Room were too small though cozy - Food was amazing, hats off to Chef. Robert - One of the older waitress was little cocky. For example: In the morning I had to greet here 3 times before she returned a good morning with a fake smile. I had to ask for hot water for my tea 2 times. We had dinner there once and I gave her 20% tip. What's up with the attitude? - Breakfast bar was phenomenal. Amazing food again. - Best part was to watch woodpeckers outside off window while having your meal.

It could be so lovely !

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: location
Cons: Bedrooms, comfort, breakfast arrangements.
Location: skiing
We were very disappointed with the comfort of this room. There were only 2 sheets on the bed, it was 32 outside... It seems so old fashioned not to have a duvet in this kind of cold ! When we asked for another cover they brought us a fleece blanket, but again a duvet would be the thing here ! Not that hard really ! Also, in a ski resort where people come to ski, they get up early to be first on the slopes, it's really lazy not to offer a skiers breakfast or something you can take away with you. To offer breakfast from 8.30am-9am is also very lazy. We won't come again, and it's a shame as the location is great !

Best Secret In Big Bear. Under New Ownership

Excellent food and very welcoming staff and owners. The cook was amazing. Fill up on the complimentary breakfast before hitting the slopes. Dinner at the Bistro was wonderful too!

wonderful place!

Pros: The staff and the food were the most wonderful part of the stay. The hotel itself was nestled on a hill with a beautiful view.
Cons: Might not hurt to get HD flat screen TVs for the rooms & possibly new mattresses. Otherwise, nothing could be better.
Location: It's outside of Big Bear.
We just came back from a wonderful stay. The staff was amazing -- helpful beyond all expectations. The owner actually helped my husband put chains on our tires after it snowed. By the time we left I felt as if we'd made new friends.

Hospitality is their specialty

Posted Dec 23, 2014
Charming bed and breakfast. Overall a great stay. Nice room and the owners were very welcoming and hospitable. Concerns were minor but worth mentioning. Roads and walkways were not cleared of ice and snow making transit challenging. There was no way to control the temperature of the room other than cracking the window letting in frigid winter air or risk overheating. The breakfast while delicious, did not offer any options for people who did not care for what was offered. As I said, these were minor issues and more than made up for by the room, owners and scenic views. We will definitely be going back in the future.

Historic mansion close to downtown

Pros: Fresh coffee and dessert all day in the lobby.
Cons: A better mattress in the room.
Location: Easy walk to the Pine Knot shopping area of Big Bear Lake.
Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by the new owners, the Harrises. They made us feel welcome and took care of us. We enjoyed the property, which is nicely furnished. A real treat is the hotel restaurant, and the onsite chef. His creations are fabulous.
